When I was a wee lass, my mom would take me to these parties, around the campus, where everyone had a toy - a guitar, or drum, harmonica, or their voice. Inevitably great fun would be had with folks playing - well, folk tunes! This being of course one of my favorites. I didn't realize then how rare that joy was. They really just don't throw parties like they used to! Your wonderful share ~ took me back there for a spell, thank you for sharing & doing it so well! Blessings!
@mythtree -Thanks for sharing your memories of this lovely song. As I say in my notes, I used to enjoy doing it as a children's entertainer but also for adult groups where the audience was relaxed and folk didn't mind having a laugh. You are so right about parties today. It amazes me that even the youngest children have, 'make-up’ parties, karaoke, etc. but with all this technology there is still some child-like pleasure derived from the olden times as I have found with my Victorian playground.
I always loved this song Geoff! I think it is really cool that you covered it! You did a great job both playing , singing, and loved the sound effects, it wouldn't be the same without them!! *****
I must say that your marvelous showcase presented here had me zipping, bopping, and whirring along with you. Those sound effects were quite innovative and made the song all the more charming and fun to participate in. Many sincere thanks for sharing this wonderful excursion into my second childhood.
Thanks Max. I'm glad you joined in and as for the 'second childhood' bit, isn't this one of the few privileges of old age? I'd swap my bus pass, cinema concessions and free medical prescriptions for the chance to act daft any time!
Bet I can beat you to the end of the street! Ready, steady,..........well there are limits to the daftness we can achieve these days. Ho-hum.

Don't complain too loudly, Chris! Everyone will be asking why they had to listen with both ears.
It seems to be coming out properly at my end. Unfortunately, due to the Credit Crunch my technical Department has been closed down.
Did you mean it was only coming out of one speaker?
