• omg!!! i just got my iud like the day before yesturdy, and it hurt soooooo bad!! i cried and it still hurts, i havent had a baby either so it was prety bad. i had also tried the depo and it made me crazy i was like on extreme pms. anyways i know ur not supose to do it 2 weeks before, but i did. and my sister just told me that if i got prego i can die!!! now im freaking out!!!

  • Ever tried not having sex, has far as contraceptions go it's 100% garenteed.

  • I got my IUD in and its the same one as you. That did not happen to me. I did not blead at all. But i have had a child. I am sorry for your pain.

  • aww you and your boyfriend have been separated? that sucks. my boy's in the army right now, so i am hella feelin' you. anyways, i thought this form of BC was really interesting, i was wondering if you could do a little update about how it's working for you? <3

  • I think the information you provided in here was really useful! I think your nerves are making it seem like its a lot worse than it is... Hormonal methods are scary and there are waaayyy too many side effects. This copper IUD option is not only more effective than hormonal birth control, it's safer, longer lasting and pretty fool proof!!

  • Killaking...Usually the guy making your type of comment is the guy with the smallest one in the room. :D hahaha.

  • that wasnt bad. guys should know all of that stuff by this point of there life

  • =] elle ur so pretty

  • it is not too much information only weak guys should be disgusted

  • although your video is very informative, i would not recommend having an IUD put in. I had one put it when i was 19 and i ended up getting endometerious, ive had it operated on twice and im now scheduled for a hysterectomy. Im only 22. i will not be able to have anymore childern. I would strongly recommend trying something else. I too get horomonal so i understand not having many options, but if all else fails use condoms if you have to. This could ultimatly ruin your 'womenhood'. Hopethis helps

  • Endometriosis isn't an illness you "catch" from an IUD. Don't listen to tmfuller21.

  • i didnt say that i "caught" endometrioisis from an IUD, it "caused" my endometrioisis. The purpose of having an IUD is so your cervix will harden and sperm will not be able to pass through it, but at the same time it can harden it so much that your period can not come out the way it is suppose to and cause it to flow the opposite direction and ultimately, end up CAUSING endometriosis. If you knew what you were talking about to begin with you would know that you cant "catch" it to begin with it.

  • I bled right after and for a few months after my IUD was placed...sucks!

  • @loveabull88 did you stop bleeding or get it removed?

  • I eventually stopped.. I still have it in...

  • Comment removed

  • @kourtluvsu It seems I no longer have my period at this point, so i guess thats good.

  • Ah, that wasn't that bad at all! Very informative, actually!

  • Definitely NOT too much information. I have the same problem with hormone birth control...turns me into an insane person! I had no idea about this IUD thing...good to know!

  • omg i thought you said you had an ied in yer uterous

  • hey there. please tell us how things are going for you. im getting an iud in a couple of days... and i wanna know if you have any horror stories about it. im also getting the copper, and i have never had children.

    :)

  • seriously, that wasn't that bad..any girl who knows about birth control, periods, sex and all the other stuff should be able to handle this. i didn't think it was too much info, i thot it was really informative. and i feel bad for her for going thru that pain! but it could be worse i guess..

  • awesome :)

  • I would be interested to know how she is getting on now seven months later. Sounds like a rough start.

  • I learn so much from you. You can research things all you want...but you're not going to get things that graphic...which is what people need to know because it's reality. Thank you!

  • you are so inspiring!!! i want to be you!!! I want a DUI too!!!

  • I know...I love her too! haha...but I think you meant. IUD, not a DUI... (driving under the influence). = )

  • I dont think i can ever be bothered going that far. I'd rather just not have sex then put my body through all of that.

    But, whatever floats your boat.

  • hmmm. well, what makes you assume she WANTS children? I myself have 2 children and don't want anymore, so that's why i had it put in.

  • I had an iud and it didn't hurt too much, it was more a cramping while they were doing it and all the next day. I bled a little too for like 3 weeks but not too much. It's fine now i've got used to it, it's wicked...no worries for the next 10 years...wohoo!

  • you have the copper IUD, however the more commonly used IUD that doesnt include copper called MIRENA works differently. if anyone was interested in getting an IUD but got scared from this video due to the miscarry talk, please look into the MIRENA and research so you know all the facts. IUD's are not 100% effective and you can still get pregnant. however, they are the most effective form of birth control next to getting your tubes tied!

  • or you could stop having sex....

  • in truth I think it's really great that she has the courage to post this here, these issues are not only for just women but guys also need to have much more understanding. I don't think its gross one bit, its just open facts that we all should know about. I'm a guy and untill just now I was a bit clueless.(damn....sorry gals)

  • dude fuck off. Im sure many many many women on here aprechiate her truth and honesty. Girls talk like this with their friends so why not be who our are in your videos and share the same thing?

  • Looks do matter and so does knowing what you want to say. I stopped at the bit where she was going to quote something from the net about a statistic from Europe and then just said 'oh it doesn't matter'. Yes, it does matter. This is the kind of thing you should be taught in school. I think this video is more about seeing that by having a slightly controversial and sexual content, it is going to get a lot of views.

  • Wow, I have already had one baby and I am about two months away from having my second. I was on the birth control patch and still got pregnant so they recommended the IUD for me after this baby. I cannot stand the idea of having something inserted into my uterus but if it means not having another "uh oh I'm pregnant again" so be it. It's just kinda scary having something inserted like that. Childbirth isn't all that bad by the way...lol. Hope you feel better though.

  • i think i figured out the reason for your message to public...you're testing a mans strength...whether or not he can listen and pay attention, or if he is to jump and react negatively to what he finds frustating. well i find this informative and helpful. thanks

  • and please omit my trying to explain myself as when i read what was last typed by me...whoa there horse... i must really be lost or something to be typing like that. I guess you could say, its to say to anyone who may feel i'm trying to be perfect...that i am not.

  • forget my question about the cervix, as i do have a clue, so yah try to omit my attempt for a communication purpose of proving that i still exist.

  • by the way, seeing as though i am not near a dictionary, and information comes at light speed here on the internet, i was just wondering what a cervix is?

  • if i say i want to be in touch with feminine side, that in no way means that i think less of man like Clint Eastwood, for i still think that balance is key to survival.

  • i think i figured out why, when i saw er witnessed men wearing slacks and folding legs like a woman does...he subconsciously was telling the woman that he too, can do the same.

  • just wanted to say...that was not too much information. I enjoy hearing the female voice. And to hear that she is comfortable and safe where she is, is Gods concern. metal gear...a game i played long ago, but while playing it, i always wished that the female had more lines...i continued playing though, regardless of my ideas of people making a better game, as i was not in vacinity of comment box or anyone for that matter, at the time of having those ideas.

  • thats my father who spoke the other day, when he mentioned to me bout way too much information as he may feel as though my father is supermans father...but even if i look up to supermans father, i don't think any less of my father and i don't intend to leave him in the dust. From dark to light and visa versa...is the wisdom i have interpreted from being with him. a father has a funny way of expressing encouragement to go where a child wants to go, but its encouragement regardless.

  • OMG! I had an IUD put in yesterday and that was the worst pain I have ever felt other than child birth. I know exactly what you mean about how it hurts more because you know why it hurts. After that I better not get pregnant!

  • Are you OK? you haven't post any video in 3 weeks ... It's not supposed to be normal 4 u to bleed

I'm from Argentina, and even here in the middle of nower Nobody use IUD anymore...

    I Hope you're fine...

  • OMG. i had it done.. and it didnt hurt one bit.. grow up. if u think that hurts u wont be able to have kids.. good lord.. stop bitching.. if u dont want to have kids.. then dont have sex u dumb fuck

  • Different situations affect everyone differently. Just because it didn't hurt you doesn't mean it didn't hurt her. You grow up and realize that everyone isn't like you. And thank God for that.

  • I THANK GOD EVERYONE AINT LIKE ME TOO.. dumbass

  • you whore!

kidding... thats sweet... w00t for bare-buck!

  • Well i know you already got one, but there is a new BC pill "Yaz" that's supposed to actually Help people with bad moods. But it was an interesting video. I hope you feel better soon!

  • I was already on Yaz. That's the stuff that made me feel funny.

  • Hm my sister got pregnant with an IUD in place ! Oops

  • After a few days, you should update us on how it's going.

After watching you're video, I realised I was being super bitchy all the time because of my birth control... And I went off, and I feel tons better, but now I'm not protected. D:

  • It's going really well. I just had my first period and it hurt like crazy, but they're supposed to get less painful in a few months. Even if they don't get better, the pain is still better than being crazy/depressed or having a kid right now. I'll make a more in-depth IUD update video later.

  • Ahh! Dude I got an IUD inserted about two months ago...it was the worst experience of my life! It was so painful that I passed out; and I've never passed out before. Anyways, I know your pain. It'll get better in a few days. But your period's gonna suck especially if you already have heavy and crampy periods.

    Good luck :)

  • Oh yes, my period does suck. Oh my goodness, it hurts. But Ed is very understanding and brings me ibuprophen and hot tea when I'm in pain.

  • Ok , I was thinking of getting an IUD , but after this , I think I have T-totally changed my mind !! That , and the thought that it would pretty much make me miscarry a fertilized egg...Ikk..I belive that life starts at fertilization . And Im pro-life , so there ya go..lol...But if it works for you ! Hope that you are feeling better soon , sorry it was so painful !

  • if u want effective BC then get the IUD, i have ut and what she said about it stopping the growth of a fertilized egg isnt totally true, the facts are that they dont know EXACTLY why the IUD works, it might do that or it might simply cause the egg to die inside the womb before it gets fertilized and kill the sperm before it meets the egg..so dont worry about that nonsense. its over 99 percent effective and i have one.

  • I read more on it, and it turns out the mucus the device causes to build up in your uterus is probably what blocks sperm from getting to the eggs in the first place... But as sakamoko99 says, they supposedly "don't exactly know" how it works.

  • Nothing wrong with female anatomy.

  • ok, i was watching thought you looked farmiliar, and then realised you look alot like nikki taylor the model...it only took me a few months to figure that out lol

  • I don't want to burst your bubble but I had an IUD inputted in 2001 and checked it and everything like clockwork ... and GOT PREGNANT in 2002!!!! When I went to see a specialist about this, she said that my womb was tiny and because it was quite small and it made me bleed a lot when she put it in, it was easily dislodged when my cervix opened each month (to have a period as it normally does).

  • Yes, there are risks. Being a girl is fun, isn't it?

  • hahaha "I have a feeling we'll be cuddling"...funny :D I understand that definitely...

  • yikes! ya know you always hear about those but you never hear how much they hurt to get them.... think about how its gonna feel to have it removed if it hurt that much to get it!

  • I know! I'm not looking forward to having it removed! But think of how much giving birth will hurt! I'll take the pain from an IUD any day over childbirth.

  • hey elle! hows it going, yeah my periods are super painful but alot lighter and i cramp for about a week before i get it...i never had that happen, it would hurt only the day before..but i still spot in between. childbirth prolly doesnt hurt as much as you dilate over days or hours...not forced open in a second..thats why it hurts so bad!

  • Ooo, that sounds painful... but it sounds like a very useful device!

  • lol, this video made me laugh out loud. not because of your pain, though. i really do hope that goes away. but i was just thinking the whole time about what all the guys that didn't hit the "back" button on their browser when you told them to were thinking throughout the video. hehehe.

  • I didn't realize they hurt that bad. When I'm done nursing, I think I'll take my chances with the hormone birth control pills. Hope you feel better soon.

  • I've read that some doctors will prescribe medication to calm you down and reduce pain. Mine didn't, and I was on a time crunch because Ed was getting home that day.

  • Hey, remember when i got mine? it hurt so bad i cried and almost threw up! hahaha, i still have it and its aweswome....5 years to go! take your health into your hands..dont become a mother just because...good for you!!!

  • Yeah, you scared the crap out of me... with reason! It HURT. I can't believe they do that procedure without pain medication of some kind. I felt like I went to the vet! But I would still do it all over again. It's so much better for me than the pill.

  • I have one and I love it! I have the same one that you got and its been in place for almost 5 years. I had 2 kids so it was much easier but my period has been much lighter and more predictable.

  • in which video do you talk about the negative effects birth control had on you. i can't find it and i'd really like to watch it because i am no longer on BC for what sounds like similar reasons. they make me CrAzy seriously. thanks for filling us in on your procedure. very educational. nita

  • That video is called "Baby Food and Default Emotions."

  • How exciting that your BF is coming home! Have you said why he was gone? Just curious. I know he had classes, you told us that...Anyhow. Maybe we can meet him? :O)

  • He's been studying abroad in Germany. Yes, I'll make him be in a video of mine soon.

  • I got pregnant with an IUD.

I named the baby yoni89. He now youtubes under that name...

  • She said 80% because condoms are not always used perfectly. When they are used exactly as directed the rate is 99%, but we all know they are not always used exactly as directed.

  • Yeah, that's true. My 7 month old is a result of the condom breaking, which happens a lot too on top of people using them incorrectly.

  • Did you check with your doctor that this much pain is normal? If not, I think you should call right away. I always enjoy your videos but so sorry you are in so much pain. I think ALL guys should hear this. They need to know. How would they like it to have one of those stuck up in them??

  • i got pregnant with an iud in. he's now 26. good luck.

  • OMG Elle the thing about Scandinavians with short nails and not very strong hair is so true. I happend to know this because I live here. Btw. I ignored all your warnings and sat through the entire vlog and had dinner at the same time... I don't care, It's important for me to get my daily dose of Elle Rigby vlogging.

  • This is like the anti-infomercial IUDs. lol

I think they'll start showing this video in Christian reproductive health/abstinence only classes across America. ;-)

  • Haha!

  • Good to see you back. I was wondering if everything was OK with you. :)

  • Since when were condoms only effective 80% of the time? I believe it's 99%, but maybe you know of a better resource than I do?

  • I would not be surprised to hear that the 80% statement comes from the disinterested organization called the Vatican.

  • That is the "typical use" rate. If used perfectly every time, it is 98 or 99 percent.

  • have a good and less hurtful *lol* week yourself! :))

  • haha it's sounds soo funny when you swear

  • Also, I had a look at a picture of an IUD on wikipedia. I don't get where the horizontal part of it goes?

  • I hope you tie ed to a chair so he can watch this.

What a female goes through so the male can get his wang wet.

  • Oh, he knows. He saw me in pain all night and the next few days after I picked him up at the airport. He is very understanding and offers to make me tea and heat up a hot water bottle for me.

  • You know by naming it "too much information", you're gonna get *more* people watching it :)

Also, I don't believe for a second that condoms have a failure rate of 20%?! Although granted they are inconvenient.

  • Believe what you want. Just because you don't believe it doesn't mean it isn't true. I am not sure of the exact number, but the "typical use" rate is somewhere around 80% effective. If used perfectly, it is a much higher success rate.

  • that is soooo horrible. i just have this implant in my arm, but that's hormones too so i dunno, but yeh i totally see why you got this one, jsut it's icky hehe.

i'm totally excited for you about ed coming home, you must have missed him so much!

    have a great week =]

    xxx

  • you better make a video with him! you know we all wanna see the famous ed...

  • :/ Ouch, I can't even imagine what that's like. I'm on the pill, but I can understand why you'd want to go that route because of the side effects of birth control. Isn't it fun being a woman? :)

  • Oh, so fun.

  • yikes that sounds painful :-( i pray it gets better in a couple of days xoxo

  • hmm.. why did u choose this method over others?

  • first!
