  • Kind of hilarious that some claim to be shocked by "high" singing men. Did they ever hear the Beachboys or the Bee Gees?

  • he looks like superman!

  • a while ago, but fantastic!

  • Nichts gegen Herrn Scholl, aber ein Alt ist mir lieber. Außerdem singt er mir zu schwach und mit zuwenig Ausdruck.

  • what fantastic cantatas & oratorios he wrote.I wish handel got played more. There is so much from this period to discover so manyothers .

  • alfred deller...

  • Very nice, I deeply admire Andreas Scholl. Yet, to me, this specific recording misses some of the contrasts and the depth I find in Panito Iconomou's and Harnoncourts formidable and unique take.

  • Blijft voor mij toch één van de beste counter-tenoren.

  • Superman was evidently a man of more diverse talents than we had expected...

  • @Brideshead09 ))) Andreas surely is the Superman among countertenors! Fantastic technique!

  • Can You put some more information about the time it was recorded, please? The Muzziek joined mezzo many years ago, so the recording has at least 10 years, and is the best version of Es ist vollbracht I know so far! Thanks

  • @Parmafoi I'm afraid that is all the information I have got. But I think it is over 11 years old.

  • @Parmafoi Have you seen this performance [Gardiner -2011]?:

    watch?v=42uaXQndr0g

  • sublime !!!!

  • ...Andreas....! ! !

  • Looks like Clark Kent here. :P

  • andreas's voice is supernatural and unfournately many people can't grasp that hidden beauty in such music and voice.....i don't know why is that. I'm 17 and the first time i heard andreas in the merchant of venice soundtrack i fell in love. people seem to amaze me at how conventional and stupid so that they won't except a man to sing high...they donno what they're missing

  • @jkrowlingee I think it is summed up by Audiocomments to TMoV: People nowadays are afraid of being "gay" when having a close Male Friendship. And in General it seems Men, especially young ones, today are terribly afraid if being not "manly" and in Terror of being effiminate. Through many Times of History e.g. Male Clothing was largely comprised of things today thought of as female. But a Man of the 18th C., e.g., was confident enough to be a Male to not have Problem with wearing LAce and Ruffle

  • Mesmerising,
