Does ANYONE know where I can get a copy of the song that was sung between Buffy St Marie and Big Bird? It went like this, "I believe what you believe and I believe in you. If you say there's a A Snufflelupagus, I do too." I love that song. It is a great song about belief! Anyone?
For some reason everytime I watch this video, I think of Southern California. it's tough to explain. Snuffy was my favorite sesame street character because I thought of him as a magical elephant.
When I first saw this skit when I was younger, I didn't know that it was Snuffy because of his high tenor voice singing. I thought that it was a different snuffleupagus. Then when I heard Snuffy's voice at the end of the skit not singing but said, "Oh I'm sorry", I thought it was Snuffy inside another snuffleupagus, or I thought that Snuffy was doing the voiceover for another snuffleupagus.
@emma4991 Kids were actually a lot smarter back then. Not only did we learn the alphabet, but many of us even learned how to use real words and spell them correctly.
@WDWSmilez Sorry this comment is three years too late, but I just read it... Actually, if you look up Marty Robinson (Snuffy currently)'s Sesame Street Blog it gives a tour inside the Snuffy puppet. It's cool!
Sounds as if they borrowed an aria from Mozart here, judging by my time in music-appreciation class. You're right that Snuffy doesn't sound like himself until the spoken "Oh, I'm sorry", though: four stars for breaking the "rules" of kidvid in general, and of Sesame Street in particular.
That's cute! It's not in the style of a madrigal, more the style of a Mozart opera.

I thought Judy Collins was more of a folk singer than an opera singer. Nice song, though.

@muppetfan33 You can definitely get that from her singing! I think she is known for her eclectic-ness.

Can ANYBODY find Judy on Sesame Street singing "A Song Without a Rhyme" with other muppets?

Singer Judy Collins was also a guest star on The Muppet Show's 3rd season back in the year 1978. She's a very talented person!

Awesome! And Judy Collins must be magic, as she appears to be the first adult to notice Snuffy!
welchm8 5 years ago 5
@welchm8 It's not that the adults couldn't see him, it's that he always either showed up late or he left before they came.

It might have been nice to give Mr. Snuffleupagus maybe a bouquet of cabbages.
