an interesting spin on this concept would be to use the definition of a Game Master from pen and paper roleplaying games, as the adversary the hero of the gaming has to fight against. This would also explain the blending of reality and gaming worlds, and the goal said hero is trying to achieve by helping all these people with his abilities. Though that would probably be a TV series, not a movie. :)
