Energy healing and other exercises are not to be antagonized. After all, we, as living creatures, have an energy field around us that can change and be manipulated to become smoother and much less intense. Energy is natural, and can be changed. Energy healing is an example of taking the energy of an individual and working with it. It's possible, and it's an interesting concept. Don't believe everything scientists put out.

Hey Maax82 Reiki is not something you do instead of standard western medicine. It's something you can do in addition to standard western medicine. We're spiritual beings as well as material beings. For example stress is something that causes sickness but stress doesn't exist on the material plane you can't put stress in a bottle. That's where healing methods like Reiki come into play.

sooo. My friend and I wanted to practice our reiki (which we had just learned), so I tackled my friend so we could use her as our guinnea pig. My friend had one knee and I had the other. My friend felt pressure on the knee my other friend was working on. But I made her other knee cold. And my hands felt warm and a lil sweaty [blech]. I'm thinking I'm doing it wrong =.=

I practice Reiki healing at the begining and end of every therapeutic massage session. I have seen the results of my work and the results are my clients leave feeling revived, relaxed, and refreshed. The human body's natural ablitly to heal itself is achieved with an open mind and Reiki allows the exchanging of energy between on recieving and the one giving to in essence teach the body to take over in it's own healing process. There is a lot of misunderstanding in the mind of people thinking scinetifically about energy healing. In energy healing the energy refered to has no direct connection with the physical energy such as electricity, magnetism, heat , etc even though the spiritual energy can engender such a response in the physical body. It is better to have a first hand experience with a scientific open mind to have an insight and experiencial knowledge about energy healing.

In a scientific viewpoint, this could be plausable. Bodies give off heat, which is energy. If one party is still and simply recieving the heat of another party, then it is reasonable that they would gain some amount of physical energy. When it comes to healing, more evidence is necessary. Although, the recieved energy might aid in the stimulation and locating of white blood cells, speeding the healing process.

hmm my mother actually do this stuff, kinda helps though (at least for some muscle pains and headaches), i dont believe that it is magic of sorts. when you get hurt at a spot or bang you arm against something you tend to hold your hand on top top of where youre hurt and it somehow helps i think it is kinda similar

All i can say is that i saw a show testing people who claimed to be able to sense "Aura's" and energy. They placed an object below three blind windows and asked the person to put their hand over the window they sensed had the object. They failed almost every time. And the time they got it could be statistically put down to chance.

That is the biggest load of b.s. It is the most natural form of healing as it draws from the subtle energy of the source that connect us all. It has no affiliation with regilious denomination or other labels. You can look at it from a scientific standpoint or spiritual and it will make sense to anyone with a shred of insight.
