i havent gotten far in the game only at the part where u have to get power to the ads cannon but when do the exploders and slasher appear in the bridge ive only seen leapers and brutes
have u tried turning off vsnyc and setting it on "low"? this'll boost gaming performance tenfold, and since its an EA game, it'll still look nice without the glow/shader fx :P
well I use mostly plasma cutter, plasma rifle, reaper, contact beam ^^ I modified plasma rifle and its very good at times that need speed or with lots of enemies ^^ (ammo is cheap and later many to find ^^) ,reaper is for mainly killing (since later there are many ammo at the way)... contact beam is for hard foe only ^^ (I like to use it at some big ones that spread some kind of tiny monsters in huge numbers ^^ 1strong shot and the mosnter is dead without those little ones ;] )

Yes, it is. I like how you charge the weapon. I also like how it's the most strategic weapon out of the other 6 weapons. If you are surrounded, then you can use the ground explosion to blow them away and knock them down momentarily; thus, giving you time to go back a few feet to charge and fire at them.
not just that but those pesky little things that come out of the Pregnant necromorph can kill you very easily if youre also surrounded by other monsters, yet itll wipe them all out, and if upgraded takes out all the tougher ones with them to. awesome weapon. pity theres very little ammo for it.

...frustrated with that big 'brute"? i find this helps:
run in this room. and find a comfortable spot.
and remember the brute can't go down them stairs in this room (which is a great place to reload ammo/extra stasis module/take a piss).
drop about 2-4 line gun nades just under neeth "it"(maybe a coup de grace in his yellow back, whilst you 'stasis' it.
that should do it.
