@007newnew thanks for the positivity! im interviewing on wednesday for the 2nd time since goibg natural. I've gotten mixed info as to if i should straighten or not. Im opting NOT! Thanks for providing a beautiful reminders :)
I am so happy I found you! I'm not big on styling so it's hard to imitate the other inspirational sisters! I needed someone with a quick, cute, zesty style type and you fit the mold! I can finally go to bed knowing what to do!!! Thank you !
This video is great!!! Good info. At my job noone cares about our hairstyles so I can do whatever, but stretching does help to prevent tangles and damage.
Straight hair does not equate to professional hair. i love this comment and video. When I went natural(BC on Christmas this year) a few people told me ,"oh no! Wait your trying to get into HR with your natural hair? You need to straighten your hair."I could go on forever with the negative comments. I plan on doing a neat twist out and gel the edges. My hair is about 4" right now so cant do a whole lot.Thank you for bringing light to what most people i know say is impossible
@shimiecoco Congratulations on your hair journey! You are not alone with receiving negative comments about the hair LOL! There's some great videos on YT on styling at different lengths. That will help give you lots of styling options. Thanks so much for the feedback. --tia
@divaallen IDK why either. I just know that I typically put some time into the videos that I publish, and love to get feedback (positive or negative) --especially if constructive ;o) But if this video helped 1 person. I'm happy I spent the time. Thanks for your message Love ;o)
You have nice hair....mine on the other hand is dry and drinks everything I use. Also I have the frizz factor going on. I will have to sub and watch all of your videos to learn all the tricks and at my age....ha, I should know these thing by now. Thanks for the help :-)
@2Bibleppl My 5 year old has hair that seems very thirsty and it drinks up everything. I'm still trying to figure out how to maintain a good moisture level on her natural hair. My hair isn't like hers that way. It's very interesting. We all have much to learn ;o) Thanks for the message love!
Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I have seen people go through the work of twistout just to pin it up and it didn't make sense to me. Your video did a good job explaining it. I have done this for the past to weeks and I am LOVING IT! The detangling is much easier and I am doing way more styles!
I'm currently transitioning and my hair isn't as long as yours and it's shorter in the front. I love the idea for the bun and the twist and roll. I'm not sure if my hair can do it but I can always try and see if it will work on my hair. If not... I have something to look forward to when my hair gets longer. Right now, I'm 8 months post texturizer. Every night I have been cornrowing and undo it in the morning. Needless to say, it's very time consuming. Thanks for this tutorial.
@Finecutie4u That was actually an old twist out that I sprayed water and conditioner mix on. The hair swelled up to that. I have a video on that called turn your twistout to a wash n go. I really will learn how to link videos here if anyone can message me how to do that ;o) Thanks for the message Love
@Finecutie4u Hi! I know one curly style was an old twist out that I sprayed water and conditioner mix on. It swelled up to those curls (the first picture of curly hair). After that, I may have used gel to define the coils.
Very well done! Ive been dying to see videos like yours to help the "natural hair challanged" grls like me lol I can def. use this one to look better mon-fri ...Thank you so much for sharing! :)
i think that style at the start of the vid was very professional. as i mentioned to another young lady, i rocked a fro to work {sew-in} and three days later, 5 other black women wore or bought fros and wore them to work :-) it's all about the entire presentation {make-up, accessories, clothes, and the smile}
@hevinamber It's that yes (the whole package). That's not to say people aren't going to try you. BUT, let them try to fire you for a hairstyle! They may provoke you into quitting. There's so much foolishness going on out there. I'm into keeping true to myself regardless. Either way do what feels comfortable to you. I've heard some stories, though. That's a whole other video LOL.
I am so glad I found this video! I was like oh my God that is my hair sister. I even showed my honey, I was like her hair is just like mine- length, texture every thing! Thanks for the great tutorial!
I have a question - how do you prevent frizz with the braid out/twist out? I live in a really humid place and I'm worried that it'll get frizzy quickly or not hold for the whole day. :(
@allxnatural It's really difficult! I live in humidity too. I find that the closest I wear my hair to it's natural state (coily), and keep it moisturized, the less I have to worry about frizz. The aloe vera gel and castor oil combo on my braidouts made the definition last longer and tamed the frizz. Play around with products that are moisturizing that your hair loves. HTH
I think it's so unfair that "afro hair" isn't considered professional for the work place and is often called messy =[.....
But if a lady comes in with a super curly S-curl weave/wig/do its considered okay. ITS THE SAME THING the natural curls are just more tighter....grrr....
Just venting about the world sorry lol....Great ideas tho :D
@21SayWhat21 U right on that. Did you hear about the lady that got pulled from the plane by the TSA so they could search through her afro? I think her name is Isis and she has a blog something called isis naturals. Evidently she is not the first, and definitely not the last. We will break the mold, though.
@007newnew WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?!? I would have sued and OWNED that airline -_-!!! What the eff!? They thought she had weapons of mass destruction in her fro -.- lol. I so would have sued, called the NAACP everything lol.
Very nice...love the style variations. I honestly love wearing my hair in two strand twist styles...I will pin them up, put them in ponytails, or simply wear it in twists for the week.
I am so glad I found you because looking at your texture is like looking at a mirror! I swear we are so similar, I'm a coily gal too :D I'm gonna watch your other vids for tips and techniques!
Lovely! I subbed after one video. I like your style and your realistic sense of looking professional in the work place. Thank you for making this video. I look forward to watching the rest.
@boot17 Why did I just think about the song "last night a dj saved my life?" You may not even know what i'm talking about LOL. Anywhoo, thanks for the love doll!
I love your braidout. I loved how u used the banana clip to do that updo..very professional. Great video i need to recondition myself into KNOWING that i dont need to use heat to be professional.
HI Tia, thanks for tackling this topic. It hits home right now. By the way, I still intend to post my journey video, it's just that this week has been crazy :). Take care love.
@flozangel Hey Doll. Glad this could be of some help. Take your time on the video, it takes time to put these things together that's for sure. Take Care;o)
@anewmeePassion I believe so too. I was thinking about that while I put this video together. May do that as a separate video. I LOVE TWISTS. Thanks Love.
