@Ritokage The second movie adaptation. The first movie stayed pretty close to the series' storyline, the second is a total retelling of the rest of the series. Kinda prefer the movies' ending.

@FREDCOLAX22 well frontier was for the 25th anniversary and it came out in 08, perhaps for the 30th anniversary they'll make another movie or series (perhaps a movie sequel to this one) No matter what they do theres almost a rule that there will be a cameo of some chars from frontier though (they just really like their cameos, hehe Isamu ftw)

@Animesfreak1 nah, u forgot one important thing. When it is Macross Frontier, Sheryl earrings are not your average gems.

(Fold Quartz: bio-crystals found in the body of bio-weapon Vajra, capable of allowing long distance communication across infinite distance of space as long as there is another fold quartz at the second location. Basically, each stone is like a super mini speaker/microphone that can send sound across all of space thus amplifying her voice.)

@Animesfreak1 when you said how is the music coming out of nowhere. well the answer is the fold quartz. Those purple gems on her earring can send transmission across super long distance while acting as both a microphone and a speaker. So when someone sing into one, it get sent to all the others no matter where it is. Same for the music.

@FlayvorOfEvil I think all those songs are to be considered her old songs that are not written in the prison. I mean there was Northern Cross, Kuma Kuma, Lion, Aimo, Do you remember Love?, a bit of seikan Hikou when Ranka did her hand motion, Universal Bunny, and the last song which i haven't the foggiest idea but I'm pretty sure it was pre-written already. And we're pretty sure we heard those before so the director just made it so. Plus, the music came from the microphone.

@FlayvorOfEvil the song came out of the microphone which acts as a music player that holds all their old songs, then send through the fold quartz acting as speakers. Once they got to the stage, the machinery did all the costume change for them and they're good to go.
