  • adoro sto pezzo.... lo metto in sottofondo quando faccio l'amore :P

  • @monicamomopratellesi Well thank you, Monica! Now I can never play this track again without thinking about that.. ;)

But I'm glad you're uhhh... enjoying my music, so to speak :)

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • That is one sick solo man! Great phrasing, nice tone too.

  • stupenda..mi da l'idea di un amore ormai logoro e sofferto. sei bravissimo

  • @Violana23 Mille grazie!

  • Hey! Great playing! I was wondering, how comfortable is this guitar for you? is the neck too thick? I'm looking for a 7 string that fits my style of playing but haven't had the chance to try some of them yet.

    Cheers bro!

  • @thegrimreaper7 Thanks!

I don't necessarily associate neck thickness with comfort. The neck has pretty much the same Wizard II D profile as a regular 6-string, so you get 19 mm thickness, flattened in the center.

Personally I prefer the rounder profile on my Les Paul 7-string though, even though it is much thicker.

If you ever feel that a neck is 'too thick', you should yourself a classical nylon string guitar and get some lessons in classical technique. Big necks have been around for centuries.

  • Where did you get this track from?

  • your style reminds me alot of alex skolnick. love it.

  • how does it make all you much older youtube guitarist feel tht a 20 year old kid is much better then u? lol im speaking of matt rach of course

  • sounds really really cool dude. thumbs up.

    keep on rockin \m/

  • can you please point the way to a copy of the backing track you used?

    thanks :D

    peace

  • wow, this is amazingtone is awesome, and the phrasing rules, just a question though, how is that guitar for, dream theater esque stuff? because I'm looking to buy a cheapish 7-string, because I definitely don't have 2000 bucks for a john petrucci model xD

  • @Musicman6464 Thanks! I'm not a big fan of Petrucci/Dream Theater, so I wouldn't know much about that. But for the price, I think the guitar has excellent playability, and delivers some great tones, both humbucker and single coil-like.

  • That was great! Super solo! Deep emotions. I was thinking about buying these guitar...but I don't understand what stock pickups are.

  • @NICK000DICK Thanks! Stock pickups are just the pickups that were installed by the factory. I never changed them, so mine still has the stock (factory) pickups.

  • i love it

    just perfect :)

  • 2 fagg put the dislike button :| loosers... great job man, i wish i could play like that ...

  • AWESOME PLAYING MAN! Great phrasing and cool sound!

  • great solo bro frasing was perfect you were on key the whole time very very very nice as for the guy askin about pickups i have some good suggestions some pickups snarling dogs from overseas are some good ones or PAF-7s are nice also they come with the apex twos and ones deactivators, blackouts i dont know if they make black outs for sevens though

  • Thanks!

And yes, there are 7-string and 8-string versions of the Blackout pickups aswell.

  • are those stock pickups? i have this guitar but am planning on getting some hotter pickups. any suggestions?

  • Yea, these are stock.

  • is a 7-string worth to buy? Becouse I have figure on buying an ibanez K7...

    sorry for my bad english!

  • Yea, a 7-string is just a guitar, with an extra string.

I think the K7 is a great guitar.

  • sweet^^ great solo btw ^^

  • Excellent Solo!!

    seven strings?

  • Thanks!

Yes, this is the Ibanez S7320, the 7-string version of the S320.

  • guitar-x backing track!

  • @Uberloinvongenchler were can i find this video? er backing track? do you have a link?

  • where can i download this backin track? and awsome job man :D

  • Beautiful solo and melodic!!! Is this instrumetal beat??? without solo

  • very nice!

  • man its amazing

    nice job dude :)

  • Is this guitar worth it without having 24 frets?

  • Did you count the number of strings? :/

  • I made my own 7-string Sabre with 24 frets and a TOM bridge....I have to admit that I don't like the way Ibanez use trems all the time :-\

  • sweet dude where do you get the tracks?

  • full of deep emotion man, awesome solo, well fuckin done

  • my cousin haz the same guitar :D

  • Awesome performing dude..and also a spectacular guitar too.

    Keep playing!!

  • Killer playing, skill and style.

  • sir where you get the jamtracks?

  • Dunno about this one.. But there are loads on the web, most I have found are torrents.. Go to isohunt and type "jam tracks" or "backing tracks".. I have LOADS seriously, good ones have the chord changes in notation...

But it's best to make your own if you can..

  • tnx sir... i need to find this one :D

  • A lot of them are from the Total Guitar magazine. This one is. It's just called "Metal Ballad", I think.

  • i love u`r stile:X:X:X u`r great & the song is nice:X i play to the same rock style rock ballads

  • Comment removed

  • Wow...very nice, loved it. Where in the world do you get your jam tracks btw?

  • This is fucking immense.

  • i like it

i heard that with that guitar you can get nice pinch harmonics like on the 6 string s is it true.

and would you reccommend buying one as a first 7 string guitar

  • Well, you can do pinch harmonics, but this guitar has a very heavy sound. It's better for rhythm than for lead playing in my opinion. If you really want a screaming 7-string guitar for lead playing, perhaps the Schecter Loomis is what you want.

  • thanks but i absolutley hate schecters

wat i meant was someone told me you can do pich harmonics on a guitar with a trem so i just avoid trem guitars i just heard this trem is very good the ZR

  • Well, I play pinch harmonics all the time, trem or no trem. I don't see how it would make a difference.

  • If you feel confortable playind on any ibanez you WONT feel confortable playing on a schecter because they have the strings 3 times far from the body of the guitar than any ibanez RG or S series

  • true i just traded my schecter hellraiser seven string for this guitar after playing one. The schecter hellraiser is very heavy and has a really thick neck.

  • Man, I'm in love with your tone. Fantastic. I'm on a hunt now, on my podx3 for something this liquidy.

Superior playing too, love it man.

  • Thanks!

If it's any help, this is a Marshall 6101. I've always been a fan of the Spinal Puppet on the Pod, which is reasonably similar. Or the SLO100 perhaps, or a Bogner model.

  • ya maybe thats coming from one of thos guys that wale on it and hold the guitar by the bar. lol. seems like itd be a bit hard to break a piece of metal that thick.lol i played the 6 string version the other day at Guitar center and i feel in love with it. i love the feel of the body shape and how thin it is. do you know where i could buy some good back tracks by any chance? my guitar teacher gave me a site but its limited amount of stuff.

  • dude im wanting one of these sometime, maybe around taxes and stuff. But first im geting a new amp, first tube amp so im excited. Ive got a RG7321 but wanting a guitar with a whammy and the ZR seems good. how do u like it? I havent heard bad reviews yet. people say its better than Ibanezs Edge bridges.

  • I think it's a very good bridge yes. Some people may not like the zero-point system which keeps it more stable in the center position... but you can disable that if you want. I keep it on.

I heard that some people break the arm or the holder, but I've played mine for a year now and nothing has happened to it yet.

  • How did you learn to play like that? Did you use just the scales? I need to know cuz Im going to practice it.

  • It's not really about knowing a lot of scales... Most of this is played in the standard natural E minor scale. It's about knowing how to use that scale. I think you just develop a feel for it by playing along with backingtracks or other music and listening carefully.

It also helps to record yourself and listen back. See what works and what doesn't.

Things that you might think sound cool while you play them might not sound so cool if you just listen back later.

  • im getting that guitar!!!!! and after seeing this, i want it even more :P good job

  • no wai man, i got this BT(TG) too, i was gonna post a vid of me jamming to it myself, might do it one day when im bothered

    props

  • Really nice jammin' dude!!!

Where can I get this backing track - or something like this?

    Greetings

    guitarmag616

  • Thanks!

This backing track is from a Total Guitar magazine, not sure which issue, about a year ago I think.

You can find quite a few backingtracks at the GuitarBT forum. I'm not sure if this particular one is on there though.

  • hey dude i have this guitar, would you know what the strings are made of? i find the tone very bright and i think its coz they are pure steel as my other guitar has nickle wound but it doesnt have as bright tone

  • I have no idea. When I bought the guitar, it had a set of .010 on it (don't know if it's stock, or put on by the shop), but I have since replaced it with a set of .009 from D'Addario, just their regular nickel-plated XL series.

My guitar doesn't sound very bright at all. In fact, it's the darkest-sounding guitar I have. It does have a brighter attack than my Les Paul, probably because of the maple neck and bolt-on construction. But after the initial attack, the tone is quite dark and fat.

  • u think? are you using tubes because i run my sound of pedals and it seems my other axe (peavey rotor) seems very compact n warm whereas the ibanez really jumps out, but uve helped me in answering though because if it doesnt sound different with new strings then that means they were nickle plated anyway so thanks for that :)

  • In this video I used a Marshall 6101 tube amplifier, I believe.

In later videos I use a Zoom G9.2tt modeler. The sound doesn't really differ that much.

  • awesome guitar there man, i'm thinking of getting that one too. just wanted to know, does it stay in tune well? like even after all that string bending?

    cheers

  • Well yes, apparently :)

  • o good good. it's one of the main reasons i want a guitar with a locking tremelo system. mine keeps going out of tune when i do shred tiemz!!!!! so thx for replying guy :]

  • Amazing, but hows this guitar for thick metal rhthms? to me it looks more like a shred guitar but everyone says it can.

  • It has a huge, and I mean HUGE rhythm tone (think Gibson Les Paul/Explorer). In my opinion it's actually more of a rhythm guitar than a shred guitar, because for shredding you'd probably want a slightly brighter, more piercing tone, and more pronounced pick attack.

There's a smidge of metal rhythm playing in my "Unaccompanied jam" video at around 5:08.

  • Thanks, i believe you but im just wondering how a guitar so thin sounds like a les paul, but an sg doesnt. Right now im debating wether i want a trem or not on my 7

  • beutiful :)

  • Awesome video man. I was just wondering first what you're playing out of and second if you've played the cheaper ibanez rg seven string. Idk which to buy but I think I have my sights set on this s7320

  • Thanks. What I'm playing out of? You mean the key? Just E-minor.

I've tried an RG7321, but I didn't like the tone that much. I prefer mahogany to basswood. Also, the RG7321 didn't have a tremolo, and this one has a very nifty ZR tremolo.

  • I think he meant amp, but if he was talking about key...what's your amp :P?

  • A blue Marshall 6101.

  • Yeah I meant amp. I'm not a big fan of marshall's, but it sounds good man

  • Not all Marshalls are created equal :)

  • Thanks... I'm still stuck in the 80s I guess :)

You'll probably love my 'Eighty Something' video then, typical 80s rock ballad.

  • dude! I love your guitar!, I really want that guitar, but i don't have enough money to buy it, so tell me... does that guitar really worth it? because i'm going to sell my guitar and try to save some money..

  • Well, I think my guitar is very good value for money. It's my favourite guitar now, and I'm not even a 7-string guitarist really. But it plays really well, has a great sound, and it looks slick aswell.

On the other hand, it's quite a bit more expensive than the 6-string version. I do think this one has better pickups though.

Mind you, I have a Korean model from 2007. The 2008 models are made in Indonesia. I'm not sure how much this affects the specs, price and quality of the guitar.

  • Definitely I'll get that guitar this week in my local store

  • im thinking of buying that guitar...

    what would u say??

is it good for 1st 7 string??

  • It's my first 7-string, I think it's pretty easy to play.

  • Dude what do you think about the bridge pickup of this guitar, are you playing with the original or did you change it?

  • Yes, this is the stock pickup. It's a decent quality pickup, but it's alnico, so it's not super extreme and aggressive (I'd say it's similar to a DiMarzio ToneZone). People who want to play more extreme metal might want to change it for a ceramic one or EMG, but for me it's perfect. I like the warm, vintage edge that this pickup has. The stock pickups are quite versatile aswell, which you can see/hear in my 'unaccompanied jam' video.

  • Where can I get this backing track?

  • Very Good. Very good Sound, very Good playing and very good song. But I think you should have use more low tones... but very good :)
