We humans are a short "blip" in earth history. However, think about how much damage we have done in our short existence. Acid rain, ozone depletion, resource sustainability related to overpopulation. These have all been caused by us.
I use to share your same view until I saw the Al Gore movie. He shows the periods of warming and cooling and shows that now it's off the scale. Not sure if you've seen that, but it changed my mind forever about the so called "debate" which is now fact.
Oh and seach for 'human footprint' programe clip on youtube, its a programme showing you how many times you do something in a life time and what you consume etc, it shows you in yards and sets it all out for you, it's not just numbers; they show you your life consumption in a field.
Yeah, it's about how we live on it, since the industrial revolution, we are cutting short our time on earth like a disposable whatever, we have no concience of what we are doing, even if we think we don't do anything, we are doing alot to contribute, in our small worlds with our home apliances and cars.
Hmmm? The last ice age isn't so far back, so yeah of course the Earth is warming still. We may have only been here for a second, but if we keep chopping down forest's and pumping gunk into the atmosphere, will we make it to 2seconds? It's not about the Earth it's about us.
speaking of the earth...Al Gore is the biggest clown on it.
