But your ass hardly touches anything and is relatively clean anyway (aside from the asshole) whereas your hands are touching lots of things, from their asshole when they're wiping, to dirt on the ground, to money which has bacteria from other people touching their assholes and handling money. This happens because people don't wash their hands, but I think Dan's right - all in all we may be more concerned about protecting our butt cheeks from other people's butt cheeks.
