Taiyô no ko Esteban ullyse 31 dragon ball z ......

  • they stole the beginning riff of 1969 Nada european Smash hit "Ma che freddo fa"...

  • The English version was cut and released, it just went nowhere. There are so many songs that have been lost from that period. Too bad there wasn't an Internet to preserve them back then. I met Shuki again in Los Angeles in the '80's. By then he had become quite the successful executive with the Power Rangers behind him.

  • @Janieg8s That was in the 90's, not the 80's. In the 80's he was producing music for various cartoon companies like Filmation (He-Man and She-Ra), Ruby-Spears (Mr. T), Marvel Productions (Robocop: The Animated Series), but most of all DiC (Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget, Dennis the Menace (US), Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, M.A.S.K. etc.)

  • @David315842 Don't know exactly what he was producing at the time, but I'd only just come to Los Angeles so I met him at his office in Valley (as I recall) in the early '80's. He was more aloof than he'd been when I worked with him a decade before. I haven't seen him since: my life took another direction.

  • @Janieg8s Oh he'd been producing a lot of music in the 80's, most of which is featured on his website, including sound clips. Recentily he had just opened a west end musical here in London called 'Imagine This', so I guess he may still have a residence in London, but yeah he more or less lives in LA now. Here's hoping you get to meet him and discuss about old times. :)

  • Oh my...ARIGATO! Shuki and Aviva one of the top French music acts, having sing a song of theirs in Japanese. No wonder Levy and Haim Saban dealt with the Japanese A LOT! :D Thank you for posting this!

  • "The Tree that Blooms the Flower of Love"

We met again under the tree

with the flower of love in full bloom

There was her standing, who I loved when I was younger

Rushing to her side and holding her hands

Staring at each other without saying anything

Ahhh, her unchanged beauty moved me to tears

Ahhh, I still loved her, I just kept telling her that

  • Both of us still remembered of the season

that the flower of love bloomed

No matter how many years have passed by

Both of us still remembered it

    We will never part again

Holding each other, living together forever

Ahhh, her unchanged beauty moved me to tears

Ahhh, I still loved her, I just kept telling her that

Ahhh, her unchanged beauty moved me to tears

Ahhh, I still loved her, I just kept telling her that

  • Thanks for the translated lyrics, what's ironic about this song is, it was originally French. :D

  • Really?, I did not know that. What is the original French lyric like? Japanese lyric is not the translation, it is supposed to be an original work of the very famous lyricist.

  • Comment removed

  • L'amour c'est la musique de la vie is the title of the original French version, you can find it on another YouTube and have a listen for yourself, as for the translation of the lyrics, I'm not 100% fluent in French sorry. But by the look of the translation it has music and love in the title.

  • Thanks, I found the YouTube clip of the French version. The title is like "Love is like the music of life" I guess. I am trying to figure out the lyric as well though I am not fluent in French either.

  • I guess you could use a translation service to help you figure out the lyrics.

  • @David315842:

I know the song as "love is like" and I always thought it was English.

  • @zijnemajesteit whatever!

  • @David315842 Er. It WAS in English. I'm the one who wrote it. Anyone know if there is an English version in circulation anymore?

  • @Janieg8s Yeah.....Right!

  • @David315842 Ye of little faith. Yes, even some of us old song writers do wander around the internet. I found this link looking for other songs I wrote back in 1972 when I was in my late teens. You'll see I also wrote the grand prize winner (tied) in 1972 'Feeling' sung by Sue in 'Capricorn' in the Yamaha International Song Festival in '72 (my maiden name was Schwartz). Shuki and Aviva used to come to London and spent a fair amount of time at my music publishers in the early '70's.

  • @Janieg8s WOAH! You're J.Schwartz (like it says on Shuki and Aviva's album). Well shut my mouth. :D Please to meet you. Oh this is awsome. I never thought I'd talk to anyone who actually knew Shuki Levy. I'm a BIG fan of his. :) I'm being sincere this time. My apoligies, it's just sometimes people claim to be other people on the internet, you can't be to carefull. I actually didn't know there was an English version to L'Amour C'est La Musique De La Vie.

  • @David315842 Probably that's because that version may not have been officially released. I don't think Shuki and Aviva took off in English speaking countries. They were more popular in the continent, especially France, which prompted many of Shuki's cartoon soundtracks to be released on vinyl there back in the day. A pity really as I wan t to hear more of Shuki and Aviva beyond their 'Best of' album which i have. Ironically enough I was just listening to an unused BGM track written by Levy.

  • Thank you for sharing this title!

    Regards
