The lyrics Connery is singing are from the hymn "the son of god goes forth to war" its set to the same tune as the minstrel boy, i looked it up but the lyrics didnt match then i "discovered" the hymn lyrics lol, hope it helps lads. sing on!
"Peachie, I'm heartily ashamed for gettin' you killed, instead of being able to go home rich like you deserved .... on account of me being so Bleedin' High and Bloody Mighty. Can you forgive me?" A great line. Then Sean leads them in a soft singing of the Minstrel Boy.
This is one of the greatest films ever made, I don't think there is any question about that. I think at the time of its release there was all this to do about Connery not playing Bond anymore and that kind of publicity was a waste seeing as it had nothing to do with this film. The great moment comes when Connery's character tells Michael Caine that it wouldn't be such a bad idea if he would bow to him more often especially when other people are around...lmao...
@DoctorEeam Don't forget that Zardoz was released a year before The Man Who Would Be King. That has got to be one of the weirdest films Connery has ever done and he got some very mixed reviews.

The movie is "The Man Who Would Be King" and the song is "The Minstrel Boy", an old Irish folk song.

Him and Caine were superb in this movie though.
