Obviously, he was a charlitan preying upon the gullible("unless I get the money, the Lord will call me home!!") - but unlike Falwell, Dobson, Robertson, and many others, at least he didn't try to ramrod a reactionary political agenda while hiding behind tax exempt status.

He lived to a ripe old age, and from all accounts was a good father and husband. He wasn't the worst of 'em- and he actually did some good in his life.
