All I ever wanted to be was a scientist.

I failed everything in highschool except english, which I got a C. I hadn't passed a math course since 8th grade. People kept telling me I was stupid and my dream was stupid, eventually I just stopped telling people my goal and kept it inside.

Now I'm doing a PhD and people are still telling me I'm not good enough to finish it. Don't listen to anyone but yourself. Only you know what you are capable off.

I was born into a middle class asian family. When I was 18, I couldnt speak in front of TEN people without shitting myself in stage fright.

But I had a dream...to become a TV Broadcaster in America.

people swarmed in from every corner of the earth to tell me why I COULDNT DO IT.

"Youre an asian! america would NEVER want an asian TV host!" was their favourite line.

Funny thing though. Today, 8 years later, America DOES have an IMMIGRANT asian TV show host.

Me.
