The ex-C&O line was a great, fast line. I rode it many times and it was smooth under the wheels of the Cardinal. The goofy connection to the PM and up to Wellsboro gave the line even more character. CSX seems content to over-abandon lines (think Virginia) and then wonder why it cannot pull off trains on time. Shame to see this line go--I remember see the Chessie Steam Special on it in 1977 ducking under the US 31 overpass with a full head of steam. Seeing the abandonment of the Peru Yard is sad!
