to my "OG" producers, i dig what you saying about today producers and Easy Mo Bee even said it his self, you can have all the latest but if your not creative and have a good musical ear, you'll never make good beats/music. Me, i'm a member of the FL Coalition and these new programs can do everything these older machines can do. Everybody got there comfort zone i guess.

kids that make beats these days don't start with wax .. they play synthesizers and use soulja boy drums ... shit i love synths but get your hands on some vinyl and discover the SOUL OF MUSIC
i love these dudes but they all fucking rich as fuck no lie. who the fuck is an Mc from a wellfare home broke as fuck and smokes a blunt every other day. and has the fucking money to buy a piano. or a fucking acoustic guitar. i mean yo thats y sometimes i wonder if they even came from a poor neighbor hood
Did you even watch the video? They didn't start out with that... They started out by stealing sounds (sampling) using sometimes stolen equipment. But today it's about a thousand times easier to get started man.
no shit i watched the video. not all of them were stolen equipment im sure niggas bought equipment. niggas is more broke now then in the 90's. unless your rich idk.
see Easy Mo Bee is right, I make my beats out of the Garageband and even though its not all expensive, you can till get creative with that muthafucka.. you can manually chop, record, and other shit.. when it comes out the speaker, That Shit KNOCKS.. so if you aint got no money, you can still make beats haha
Wow that was a great video. Cause for real for real it is all about the production! You can have a banging beat with ass lyrics but you can have a ass beat and banging lyrics. Think about it all the songs that are huge got them beats behind it.
Words from the wise, good shit. That's what I've been saying. A good producer can make anyone famous with a line of fly beats. I don't care if he's rappin about captain crunch.
These catz are sikk! Marly is the man with the illest & dirty(grit) beats! Dr Dre should of been on here....he's been around forever...and that's a long time!
thank god for compuetrs. i have all the vintage kits in wav form rather then back in the day having to buy the actual machines.but big up to these producers for real.
TGhat would depend on who you are and wear you are, HIP-HOPPER here in the D always knew about Jay-D, really since the Stakes is High album(De La Soul)and big radio play from , that Busta joint, YA YA YA YA. RIP
Thanks for sharing, I've been waiting for Amazon to deliver my copy of this DVD for 2 weeks, so this is a nice taster!! About time someone made a DVD bout the hip hop producers and djs.

all right wahats the difference between a DJ and a producer
DanielAlbright 4 years ago
you can prouce without ever DJing, using pads and sample packs on programs and keyboards, esentially you never have to touch a turntable.
DJ's use turntables to make a beat by sampling pieces off of records.
