Best way of stealing someones stuff is by pushing a sword in their throat and then taking it.

if you want to become a theif, make a new guy, the cat thing is a great start for theifs, and start training in sneaking, archery, pickpocketing and lock picking.

if you still want to be mage, then start faving those spells, and take a good note at what your spells are for. fire spells=damege, frost spells=damege stamima and shock spells= damege mana.

healing spells and alteration spells are a mages best freind, so dont be afriad to use it.

I just finished the quest that you are on. You have to go to his stall and open the slider door. You'll have to picklock both open, and what I mean by both is that when you open the slider he has a strongbox in it. When you got the strongbox open get Madesi's ring or what ever his name is then go behind the crates where that other dude is to complete the quest. Wait untill you're hidden to give him the ring
