Marx's Kapital is a book about capitalism, as the title suggests. Marx wrote very little at all about post-capitalist societies. Marxist theory is a theory about history and about the inner workings of capitalism. One of the primary misunderstandings about Marx is that people think that he wrote about communism and so that somehow the fall of the USSR discredits his theories. This is hardly the case. If anything Marx's analysis of capital holds true more than ever today.
