  • Personally, I find the hanfu to be more beautiful in style than kimono or hanbok.

  • whos that girl on 3:48 she's beautiful,omg i think i fall in love with her.lol

  • the ONLY thing on the entire innternet that is useful!

  • Very detailed information, nice video.

  • i like the kimono more hanfu looks like.. pyjama

  • the Hanfu clothing looks a lot like the clothing wore during the shilla bakjae and kogoryo of korean dynasty.. im guessing they had a lot of influences together

  • @MakeupGeekAddict - both Shilla bakjae had great influence from Han Dynasty China (200BC - 100AD) and Tang Dynasty China (700AD-900AD). In fact, Shilla was the alliance of China (imagine like North Korea and China nowadays) to prevent invasion of Goguryeo.

Moreover, during the Joseon Dynasty (13-19th centuries), Korean was the tributary state of Ming Dynasty and Ching Dynasty China.

It was no surprise to see that Korean and Chinese culture were so similar.

  • @bensontam

Sure, Silla, Baekje, and Goguryeo has different level of Chinese influence, while Goguryeo has the least. Joseon was tributary to Ming and Qing, but Qing isn't Chinese. Korean also influenced Chinese culture like Folding Fan,etc...

  • @bensontam

Sure, Three kingdoms has variant of influence from Han and Tang dynasties. Joseon was tributary to Ming and Qing, Qing isn't Chinese, but Manchu. Korean culture also influenced China like folding fans, ginseng (medicine), etc..

  • @Hanul91 Folding fans originated in Japan.

  • @MakeupGeekAddict

Upper class wore variant of Hanfu, but commoners worn Hanbok.

  • Looks like Pajama

  • @WajinNip Sure, tell yourself that. The Joseon Hanbok was clearly a descendant of the Ming Hanfu.

  • @acatisfinetoowut He really likes fairy tales, doesn't he? :P

  • @acatisfinetoowut

Nope, Hanbok wasn't a descendant of Ming or Song. We had Hanbok from Goguryeo and earliest is found in inner mongolia (Xiongnu). Hanfu and Hanbok are different. Kimonos come from Hanfu in state of Wu.

  • i like style three the best!

  • Let's bring Hanfu back to live in San Francisco. Search group "San Francisco Hanfu" in Facebook

  • the one i like most is the sub-I of style two - so chinese beauty style

  • I have a Hanfu with the ribbon on the chest lah~ ^^

  • The uploader should've classified the styles from the dynasties.

  • lots of 楊冪 ^_^

    nice vid. :)

  • thank u so much for posting , I think HanFu is one of the most elegant clothes in the world , especially for girl , it looks perfect

  • 什麼也不說,我的最愛。

    大力支持漢服。

  • Could it be that the Japanese 'kimono' is derived from these Hanfu styles? Quite a few things seem rather similar...

  • Yes, the earliest form of Kimono derived from Hanfu during Nara Period (google if you want). However Japanese does put their local uniqueness on it and it change a bit into modern Kimono.

  • yes, the Han Chinese introduce Han Chinese Dress to Japanese in 700-900AD. They later use the Han Chinese dress and developed a new dress called "Kimono".

  • Yup, the Japanese Kimono and also Korean Hanbok are both based off the Hanfu. The Kimono is based on the Hanfu of the Tang Dynasty while the Hanbok is based on the Ming Dynasty Hanfu. Both Dynasties are considered high points of the Chinese civilization thus they had much influence over Japan and Korea.

  • what is the name of this song in intro. its really nice.

  • 殺破狼 Sha Po Lang by JS from Chinese Paladin

  • Though it is quite unfair for the Manchu brother to see their costume to be replaced but we have to follow the majority as in the democratic way .Further more we shall not totally forget the Manchu Qei Pao if we can accept western coat.

  • how is it unfair? it is unfair to see Qi Pao replacing Hanfu in the first place. Now everything is going back to how it was suppose to be.

  • I have to agree with you.

  • I rather feel sad.The Hanfu has lost its place in Chinese. What we tend to say "Tang Chuan" or "Chung San Chuan" (Tang Costume )is actually Manchu Costume. The Han has forgotten their original Costume which is like the Peking opera costume or even the Japanese Tang costume.

  • 礼仪之大,故称夏;服章之美,谓之华。古人称赞我们自己的衣裳谓之:其形也,翩若惊鸿,婉若游龙。荣曜秋菊,华茂春松。
