  • Waaaaiiit is this like a shortcut? In my text book its soooo much longer how to find it out o.o lol....

  • i hate math

  • Oh NVM. I get it now. Not a perfect square

  • I get it now thanks. just not this one problem: 25x2 - 15xy + 36y2 (x and y are variables and the 2s are exponents) O.o

I suck. Oh and im in 7th grade

  • makes a lot more sense than 2a^2+2ab+b^2.

  • im going to suck at algeabra too.... smh

  • 2:43 why did you put that line with 5 above it? what does it mean? (I dont have headsets so I cant hear you)

  • @sonnytenedo That was a square root symbol, not a 5. So the point I was making there was that if you take the square root of the first term and the last term, and then keep the sign from the middle term, you'll usually end up with the correct factoring. For example, using that approach to factor 4x^2-12x+9 we get (2x-3)(2x-3), or (2x-3)^2. If that approach did not give the correct factoring, then we'd have to try a different method.

  • @robichaudd Oh.. sorry mate and thanks! :DD

  • @robichaudd I just got new wireless logitech headsets a hour ago... and I completely understand it now thanks alot! subbed and liked!

  • If you wanna check it you can just use. (square root of Front) x (square root of back) x (2) = middle term

  • i get it but~ how about if the middle term is negative? ^^, thanks

  • @feiziyulin In the factoring, keep the sign of the middle term from the trinomial. For example, x^2-6x+9 factors to (x-3)^2.

  • @robichaudd awww.. it helps me a lot though. thanks for this ^^

  • I actually get it now (:

  • thank you so much! before this stuff was as clear as mud... wev been doing this for weeks now and i dont get anything! thank you ssssooooososososoooo much i really appreciate it, really helpful video :D

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    this helped a lot!

  • @jmbjake97 If there's a coefficient other than 1 in front of x^2, like in the problem you posted, always check to see if a gcf can be factored from the trinomial before trying any other type of factoring. If the first and last terms are perfect squares, then try perfect square trinomial factoring. Remember to check the factoring by multiplying it out and verifying that you get the starting trinomial back again.

  • i h8 how i haffta come to youtube for math help, and not my own parents/teachers

  • Please teach my teacher how to teach.

  • The dislike is from a math teacher from school who saw ur video and was mad u were stealing their thunder. lol

  • you are now my new hero!

    I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!!!!! @v@

    (tears of joy)

  • Thats awesome...thanks for uploading your helping a bunch of people we thank you!

  • Thank you so much! I didn't understand this before, but once you explained it, it makes perfect sense!

  • You totally just saved my butt

    thanks a million!!!!!

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!! My Math teacher just flies through the stuff before we can even learn it so I basically go to school and then come home look at the book and have to re-learn it.

  • Thank you. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH.

  • Wow! It's that easy?? I was acting way too complicated about this stuff. Thanks a bunch.

  • HELP! I HAVE PROBLEMS THAT GO LIKE:

2x^2-12x+a and they ask for the SQUARED BINOMIAL for it!!!!!

HOW DO YOU FIND THE SQUARED BINOMIAL FOR 2x^2 ??????!!!!!?????!!!

  • wow, my teacher was having me do something much more complicated...thank you so much... my brain loves you!

  • @Drakaus1982 I'm glad the video helped :-) Your teacher was probably having you use the perfect square trinomial formula. Please check with your teacher to see if you have to use the formula for full credit. I'd hate to see you lose points for using the shortcut shown in the video.

  • Will do thanks again...

  • @robichaudd Were you using decomp

  • @devinkstewart not sure what that means...

  • this was really helpful!! :D

  • I have a question. What if the middle term is higher than the last term?

    Like 49b^2 - 84b - 36.

  • @eenayeah The method still can work, depends on the value of the middle term.

  • r j00 a dud or a chik kuz i dunno lolz

  • im gonna ace all my subjects!

  • im gonna ace math 10 :)

  • what it the equation is like -3t+12t+36, do you still factor and how do u do it???

  • @baller23killer use the box method for that one :]

  • thx a bunch just helped me wit my hmwk

  • you are AWESOME

  • fast and understandable.

  • thanks so much, you really simplified the process for me

  • I understood that in about four minutes compared to my teachers entire hour ... thank you!

  • this helped a lot. all the other sites i have been to were to complicated and i didn't understand it. your way was easy and simple and my math homework was a breeze. thanks!!!!

  • how about 3x^2+24x+48=0, how do we do to solve it?

  • @xaus2009x Sorry but I only answer followup questions to the problems in the videos.

  • i'm gonna fail algebra

  • @xaus2009x Try going to your teacher for extra help, or try the tutoring center at your school. If you're doing online courses, then try to find an online tutor. Check out WiZiQ . com - there are online math tutors there.

  • @robichaudd i was joking, but thx

  • @xaus2009x (3x+12)(x+4)

  • @calito0010 That factoring is correct but it needs one more step to be complete. Factor out the 3 in the first binomial. The final factoring is 3(x+4)(x+4). Another approach would have been to factor out the GCF of 3 at the very start:

    3x^2+24x+48=0

    3(x^2+8x+16)=0

    3(x+4)(x+4)=0.

Setting each binomial equal to 0 we get the solution x=-4.

  • @robichaudd Right! thanks, tomorrow I have a placement test , let me tell you your videos helped me review my high school years.

  • thanks that was helpful!

  • Thanks so much!

  • OMGG thank u now i hve a chance of passinn why cant my teacher explain the same way !

  • Oh my god this was so much more clear than how my book explained it. Thaaaank you. You're a life saver

  • i understand it well :]] maybe i can have a better grades in MATH :]] THNKS A LOT

  • Thanks!

  • thank you so much! love this!

  • thank you

  • niiiice...i got this in a different way...i always had trouble putting the additon and subraction

  • The force is strong with this one....

  • you explained this perfectly!

saved me an all nighter, also.

  • This helped alot ty...my teacher was not very clear but im sur ewhen ur not teaching an entire class its much easier too be clear and persice...im going too get my teacher to record videos so i can upload them on youtube on mondays and tuesdays.

  • i love your voice.... :)

are you a teacher at a school and posting this for your students?

if you are, this is not fair, my teachers never do this....

    thank you

  • thanx :-) yes, i post these for my students. lots of teachers are starting to, so maybe your teachers will too soon.

  • You rule.... thats all

  • Good job explaining this.

  • i have to do this at home all by my self! i was stuck on this and wen i asked my dad he started to explain some wierd thing.... i wish my dad could explain things much easier like you do!

  • Wheeeee, you saved me from an all nighter trying to figure out my homework :D THANKS SO MUCH

  • You're the best, I wish my teacher taught the same way as you do to!

  • You rock!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much!! You are the best!!!

  • Thank you!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!!!

    you are the best!!
