@fleckx In a true civil war, parts of the military would turn against the government just like they did long ago. If gun confiscation went into effect there would be civil war. Also, a .50cal sniper rifle can hit targets 1.5mi. away, therefore destroying directed energy weapons before they even fire. BOTH extremes (total gun legalization and total gun bans) are bad. Legality but with sensible regulation only makes sense, does it not? And I'm not so sure it's conclusively proven that "all gun control doesn't work." The effects of good gun control are surely a lot more subtle than that. And besides, it's not like it's proven that concealed carry lowers gun crime all that much. The states with the highest rates of gun ownership also tend ot have higher crime rates :/

Why is it unreasonable to ban high-capacity magazines?? Is it THAT necessary to have a gun with 30 bullets instead of, say, 10? Isn't 10 more than enough? It takes only one bullet, fired properly at the target, to stop an attacker, for instance.

I'm all for gun rights, but you guys really go all out on the fringes with this crap. Focus on battles that are WORTH it, not bullshitting us with, "Oh, we need to oppose this reasonable measure because if they get their way they'll ban guns next."

High capacity mags are designed for suppressive fire in a military application. Since the Second Amendment was written to ensure civilians would have access to arms equal to that carried by the common infantryman then we not only need high cap mags but we need to repeal GCA '68, to end de facto gun registration, and repeal the NFA, to make military weapon affordable to the common man again.

"weapons of mass destruction" is a buzz phrase commonly used in the UN when dicussing their small arms treaties. They (IANSA etc) see civilians as the cause of crime and firearms related deaths, not governments and armies.

Making high cap mags illegal will simply mess over law abiding citizens. It takes 2 seconds to switch them back to high cap and as much as id like to im no criminal, so im stuck with 5/30 round mags.
