Why is Before Sunset your favorite movie? I liked Before Sunrise much better. I think this second one Before Sunset was completely unnecessary. The first movie Before Sunrise was a metaphor for life and death. The second one was a ridiculous sequel that completely destroyed the theme of the first.

I think the exact opposite of you. This is so much better and the previous one was just an introduction for this.
However, it's like my boyfriend said: Linklater himself grew up in between, so he obviously changed his mind about some things.
