Thing is, I know what he means by noises that are the same. But he's wrong; the limitations of noises that can be made is only limited by the vibrations you can cause. Since there are many things that make noises, there are many different and unique sounds. Still, you might one day hear a crash in the distance, assume it was a crane dropping its load, then you realise it was a car that drove straight into a wall. It's rare that noises are that similar and even so, it's possible to distinguish.
