@nexusdb In real life, when your opponent has a knife, he will be trying to cut you while you are doing your motions. The off hand is used to check the opponent's attack and sometimes to bridge or move it so a target is open or so the opponent's arm can be cut. Without an opponent's arm, the checking hand often ends up tapping your own bicep when moving at speed and in a realistic fashion. Message me for more detail
@nexusdb Sometimes rapid arm movements can confuse an opponent. However, the primary purpose of the motions of the non-knife wielding arm are to check and parry the opponent's limbs and remove my own non-knife arm out of the way of my knife. You would be surprised how many students, when sparring under pressure for the first time with training knives, hit themselves with their own knives when trying to parry the attack and quickly counterattack.
@ivageivage I have reviewed Boker products in the past and used them both in videos and in magazine articles that I have written. In which Boker product are you interested?
@ivageivage I quite like the Trance, especially for the price. I wrote up a review for Boker, but it was not utilized by them. As for the EDIT, please check out the Albo Kali Silat website, where there are some photos of the EDIT, Subcom fixed blade, and others which were used to illustrate an article I did for the Russian knife magazine, Prorez. The article was on the use of small knives for self-defense. There is a PDF version of the article on the website.
tell me about it... im some parts of america you can walk around with a 12 gauge strapped to your back but here i can't carry my cold steel recon 1.... pathetic. :(

Shhhhh. Don't let TPTB in the UK see this. They'll up and ban the UKPK.

I live in the UK and have the Spyderco UK penknife, so I really appreciate your video. Good work.

Great demonstration. You gotta give small non-locking blades credit (don't underestimate them!!!). Thanks for posting.

David Lowry here....
Great vid knifebro. I love seeing you use what most would think to NOT use in a SD situation. It is a great little knife.
