Something to consider is she is probably dumb enough to drive her own car this way. Lots of people beat the crap out of their cars. The majority of people say they drive a rental car exactly like they drive their own car..sometimes even more gently (and most people are reasonably gentle with a car). So if you buy a rental car at least it was driven normally/gently most of the time. If you buy a used car from a private party you take the risk it was owned by someone who beat the car all the time.

And so far, every one of those rentals already had some previous damage. The Aveo sedan had bald tires, The Aveo hatch had bad engine ping, a piece was missing from the F-150's bumper, The 08' PT was missing some interior bits, the 09' PT had bad engine ping, the Caliber's engine had bad brakes...

A rental's life is a hard one, don't think that just one person did all the damage...
