  • He wasn't bad. Better than a few I've seen by a long shot. If I had to criticize anything I would say that his rhythm sounded a little... funny in parts. Not wrong, per se, just odd. And his singing, to me, while technically sound lacked a lot of the emotion it could have had. Colm Wilkinson can't really hit the last note right, okay, but the emotion he injects into every song is just staggering!

Overall, a pretty good performance though :3

  • @humoronwheels87 Colm Wilkinson CAN'T hit the last note right? What Colm Wilkinson have YOU been listening to? Colm did it on key and without reverting to a falsetto voice. The man is a beast.

  • @xmentosx Okay, looking back on that comment from last year I realize I may have worded it quite imperfectly. When Colm Wilkinson sings the very long "ooooooone!" note at the end, he kind of... squeaks or squeals on the -ne! syllable a lot of the time. It's probably a personal issue, but I really didn't like that, and I noticed that everyone else can hold that note dead steady without squeaking at the end. Otherwise, perfectly agreed. Freakin' beast.

  • @humoronwheels87 I've heard different opinions on that last one. Some people just consider it a fun last hickup he did to say "Yeah, I just hit that note, let me just snap you out of your amazement". Others mostly agree with you. I personally have hit that note on occasion and doing the hiccup afterwards actually seemed a bit more difficult to me than just cutting it off.

  • its a b natural

  • @martinman300 no its definitely a Bb, maybe the music you got was different

  • @thestainisgone485 No mate, I don't have any music I'm just listening to what the guy is singing. the whole song is B major and the last note is a B natural :)

  • @martinman300 well i have the sheet music and i just sang it into a tuner, its a Bb

  • @thestainisgone485 Mate in the original productions it is a B natural. Trust me I have perfect pitch. Not trying to be arsey but it is. In your sheet music the whole piece may be put down a semitone so in that case it would be b lfat

  • verry good :) a little rough on the ending Bb but nice

  • once again, david is awesome.
