  • burns out last summer's weeds too :-)

  • your momma is so fat she blows hr hair with that

  • this is the boring way :(

  • Wouldn't it be smarter to work in the opposite direction and combine the jet engine with the way the wheels are rolling...I mean that may be more energy efficient...

  • @IXIArblargIXI Totally agree , they are working against the turbine exhaust

  • thats one way to clear the frogs

  • HoBo hair dryer

  • Does this do anything useful whatsoever?

  • @robertgift Right? I mean it's barely doing anything!

  • thats more like a ice remover than snow remover lol

  • I normally use a shovel, but this works too I suppose...

  • anti suicide, jump infront and get blown away :)

  • and what do u do sir, "i blow dry train tracks".

  • Excuse me sir could you stop for a moment. I need to blow dry my hair.

  • thats soo pointless

  • jump in front of it

  • thats one of the town that dont need a crossing or warning bells, cuz they already have one

  • I like the Idea that people have been hard at work clearing the roads and a snow blowing comes along and sprays all the snow off the train tracks onto the roads

  • I've seen that before, although not while it was fired up.

  • World's largest leaf blower!

  • LOL that thing is bad ass!!!!!!

  • My guess is that its not so much for snow removal but for deicing the track

  • @chclough wrong sorry but we use them to blow snow out of switches and crossovers

  • @chclough no its for snow removal

  • it has to be consuming at least 25 gallons of jet-A fuel per hour

  • @SpiritsoftheWolf actually it runs on kerosene

  • @Farva1239, ok but still burns a lot though :)

  • @SpiritsoftheWolf it consumes 25 ounces of fuel per minute

  • Only in America.

  • Think of allo the rock its blowing at a hundred or so mph

  • Is that really worth removing 4 inches of snow? It looks like it could make a good blow dryer when your in a hurry.

  • thats a hell of a leaf blower...

  • i thought that was fake!!!

  • What a waste of fuel, wheres the snow? in ohio thats a light dusting

  • Where's the blowing snow part O_o

  • That thing sounds like the engines on the MD-80!

  • Impressive. THAT'LL shift the leaves off the driveway!

  • wait dont they use like the same thing on roads or somethn to make concrete or asphalt dry faster

  • That is an insane snow blower!!!!!

  • no its not that large of a jet engine

  • if that was a true jet engine that thing would be flipping around in the air at full throttle, lol

  • jet engines don't have to be big

  • @vipserson

    OHHH, yes they do!

  • they are de icing the points

  • everyone....its a de-icer..

  • @DevinL16

    That makes sence.

  • I would think a train could go through as much snow as would fit under the nozzel of this thing. And plus, this would blow all the gravel away.

  • actually a de-icer

  • Worthless POS?

  • NJ transit has one there really cool wish i could drive one

  • I'd guess NJ transit has that bad boy out now... man.

  • I grew up near a rail yard, and they had several of these. I believe they mostly used them for de-icing switches to keep them operable.

  • that doesnt seem verry effective

  • lol thats cool

  • you can see these at some of the detroit yards. they hardly ever use em though.

  • Another use for the steel wheel mounted, turbine driven leaf blower!

  • Annoying has Hell...

  • not even that much snow

  • that is a track heater

  • haha, you're stupid.

  • now is when you get in your car and let all the Ballast bounce off the body and hoping there are no old brake shoe's layin in the gage

  • hell, they need that in Northern Canada or in the Rockies!!!!

  • we have one of them in Toronto yard...Canadian Pacific ...oh yeah

  • Toronto you say? sorry for the correction but it's not "oh yeah" it should be "EH?"

    lol

  • how true, but most people on you tube don't know how us canadians speak. lol

  • Well I think I'm gonna go to the store with my dogsled team and have some beer and back bacon, sounds good eh? lol

  • spoken like a true Canadian...

  • thats cool....

  • ahh why is this get engined ?

  • conrail had a few of these, also some mounted of trucks, uses as hyrails

  • How could several inches of ice derail a 200 ton locomotive?

  • the wheels on a train only sit on a surface of the diamter of dime. they do not make full contact with the rails. so your trucking along with something that uses a dime for a foot print and you get ice under there. and since ice is stupid slippery on metal. oops

  • same way a 4000 pound car slides into a ditch at 10 mph.

  • Same way 1/4" of ice can bring down a Boeing 747.

  • What, by inducing a stall by increasing drag and decreasing lift? Somehow, I don't think so.

  • We tried this on the RR I worked on, and all it did was blow away the ballast.

  • if you look at the tip its angled straight down so if anything it would push the rocks down

  • Doesn't matter. Put some rice on a table and blow at it through a drinking straw. Whatever angle you hold the straw at, the rice will be blown away. Same goes for rocks, if you blow hard enough. For example, with a jet engine.

  • @boazrg thats cause you had a bad operator dont blame it on the machine. Besides it sure beats shoveling

  • lol the guy in the car was probably like "WTH is that?"

  • that thing is stupid --it could never handle any amount of real snow

  • It's not bad for industrial spurs and sidings. It would be inefficient to use a rotary or Jordan Spreader.

  • poor bastard, just imagine driving that thing:

    "What did you do today?"

"Hm, not much just blew some snow and leafs away and under it i found a real tinnitus!!"

  • no i think it would go like this:

"so, what did u do today?"

"WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU! WHAT DID U SAY?"

  • or the new employee,

whaaaat yeahhh well ah i did learn if i hit the throttle too hard whhhaaaaaaaaattttt!!! yeah well if you hit the throttle to hard you go backwards. i think it needs a smaller jet engine i thought i was gonna fly away.

  • this is how american people waste petrol

  • No, this is how we ensure that billions of tons of goods are transported safely and efficiently each year. Can't really say the same about the European rail systems, not truthfully.

  • i dont see any snow in fron of this snow remover

  • Ever heard of this stuff called ice? It's like snow, but smaller, and clear. I hear it's also really slippery, but you can get rid of it with heat.

  • That's true but the video's title (which is incorrect if what you say is true) says that this is a `snow remover'.

  • of course you dont thats the point of this machine :)

  • I'll be the neighbors love it when that comes by.

  • And when your bored, disengage the D-E and accelerate via the jet engine :D

  • Awesome, this vehicle need the dutch railways,in Autum blow the Three thumb, leaf from the railroad tracks.

  • THE ultimate leaf blower!
