  • What the hell with this video?, music is something so beautiful that should be kept away from mixing it with stupid religious arguments. "god" does not exists, is the imaginary friend of the weak-minded. Period.

  • @MachineMezziah

Even the most brilliant are susceptible to being uncritical regarding dogmas they've been taught ever since they were born. I wouldn't call people like Newton and Francis Collins weak-minded, just victims of their parents fear, or the prevailing culture of the time.

  • Neil doesn`t tell out if God exists or not..he only tells he believes in Love and in good chances...Any other is a suposition of yours..Sorry..He is very positive..Perhaps that may be..YOUR belieft and you`ve put it into Neil`s words but I think you might have thought before ..not sperak for others..Thanks

  • Nice Video

  • Don't associate Rush with a bullshit video

  • neil shut up and play the drums.

  • @fendergibs you shut the fuck up...period,end of sentence

  • @wolfennyc good one, original, your mom must be proud.

  • this video is an epic FAIL

  • Really, what is this? There are no gods, imo.

  • Great video.

  • The fetus is this? I just wanted to listen to Rush

  • this video really pisses me off. neil peart is not an atheist; he's an agnostic. who made this??

  • who made this video? i don't like it. are you seriously quoting neil peart?

  • who made this video? i don't like it.

  • haha oh yea y are u basing your belief of a band? and in solution #2...thts basically saying ur going to run away from problems or am i wrong?

  • In my opinion it's freewill. God gave us freewill.would there really be a point to live if were not making desicions and living it? its not like he doesnt feel pain when he sees suffering but i think we all have to go through something to be closer to god. granted there is suffering around the world that is horrible but its our fault not his. theyre needs to be a balance between good and evil...and if your the creator of everything of course everything that happends will be linked to you somehow

  • Yeah, if you really think about it, Rush is actually fairly anti-religious, so your final conclusion didn't make much sense after using all those Rush songs. And honestly, God isn't necessary to the concepts of Good and Evil. I'm an atheist, I don't believe in any higher power, I don't worship anything, and I have a clear understanding of right and wrong.

  • Rush is awesome! However, is it wise to get your theology from a rock band? Mankind deserves the worst the universe has to offer. However, God has dealt with this at the cross. Those who turn to Jesus stand against the evil in this world. BTW, this does not include all who call themselves Christians. One day God will throw sin and death into the Lake of Fire to be destroyed forever. Human history will seem like a blink of an eye when compared to an eternity where evil and death will be no more.

  • @247websolutions Your right! , it's not smart to get your education theorys from a Rock band . What fans read in Neil Pearts lyrics, is the world in HIS view . Doesn't mean it's necessarily the truth .He's just describing life circumstances in his own words and in the best way he can put it . Some fans (like this guy that made this video ) thinks it's all true what Neil says ,and puts him in the same category as GOD . FANATICISM, NO RATIONAL REASONING, and perhaps dangerous person.

  • @bytor765 It would have been more accurate to put Hitler with Stalin, and not Lenin. Lenin genuinely believed in the insurrection of his people from the injustice of capitalism

  • Good God and suffering in the world? Obvious problems that need to be dealth with honestly. Is God good, evil or weak? or does he not exist?

  • Jesus did exist! Like how bout' thousands of eye witnesses....eh??

  • @bytor765 please send me any concrete evidence you have that Jesus existed thank you

  • @bytor765 What eye witnesses? None of them wrote about him. The only part of the bible written at the same time as Jesus is supposed to have been alive wrote as if he existed 200 years earlier.

  • what fag put lenin and hitler together . . . dumbass

  • @bprime1 lenin and hitler same evil different politics

  • @bytor765 ur dumb . complete opposite politics left right both extreme that doesnt make them easily comparable. evil is a perspective as well some dont like jews hitler was evil to them. so i guess you know nothing bout history to compare hitler and lenin ill just leave it alone then . read a book and stfu.

  • @bytor765 Lenin ? you meant Stalin I guess.

  • @bprime1 Were they not both men of evil?

  • You don't need God to have good and evil or moral values. Ready Ayn Rand's The Virtue of Selfishness.

  • @JaysThoughts

Rand isn't the only person to come up with a set of secular morals, you know. Try The Philosophy of Humanism by Corliss Lamont.

  • My youngest cooked some food, oldest asked for some, youngest said "NO, cook your own food like that story in the bible", I said, "No, that is The Little Red Hen, remember". Later, oldest tried to steal food, youngest said, "I'm going to kill you", I said, "That's in the bible".

  • FUCK YOUR RELIGION FAGOT, THERE IS NO GOD!!!!!!!!

  • @transformer01234567 That's.. very constructive and mature.

  • I don't have faith in faith I don't believe in belief You can call me faithless ("Faithless", Snakes & Arrows, 2007) "I don't believe in destiny Or the guiding hand of fate I don't believe in forever Or love as a mystical state I don't believe in the stars or the planets Or angels watching from above ("Ghost of a Chance", Roll the Bones, 1991) The video for Rush's instrumental "Malignant Narcissism" shows that the title is specifically criticizing religious faith.
  • How can you ever relate Neil Peart, Einstein and God?

  • Um, Dude! If you were a true RUSH fan you would know that Peart, Lee and Lifeson are not religious, at all!!! And Neil is an atheist in the truest sense. Check out the interviews on Snakes & Arrows. Nice try turning their beautiful secular music into an evangelical message. FAIL

  • he beilieves wat he thinks is true, thr is so pruff of religion just blindless faith and he prolly doesnt think "god" is real cause heis family wasnt saved, i undertand

  • @riffekara I dunno about Neil, but some of us atheists don't need tragedies or proofs of god's existence or lack thereof. Just as a believer sees god in everything, so an atheist doesn't see it. I love life, I am a positive person, but I am an atheist. And believe me, I'm no less happy or "in peace" than my Christian (or Jew, Muslim etc) friends. It's a matter of faith: you either have it or don't.

  • @Franz2099 i nvr have believed in him, my beliefs are complicated, im sure thrs some all powerful w/e i just think whoever they are suck. plain and simple. no one should have the right to say who diserves to live or die and no one should get to control life

  • Neil Peart is God he just won't tell us mere fleshlings till after the Show

  • Uh, it's understandable if Neil may be a little cynical about religion, given his wife and daughter both died unexpectedly...

  • @KOSMICKEN09 being an atheist doesn't have anything to do with one's losses. I am an atheist but had no such experience (yes, I lost people who were dear to me, but I guess that's just life). My mom, who has lost much much more than me (including a child), and who should have a lot of reasons for being cynical about religion or god,

  • All that really is ... is that there are no absolute truth... All that really is ... Faith without winsdom

Is fanatism... Feewill is not thinking that your truth is the only one... Freewill is the respect of what is every human Heritage "Freewill".

  • 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.

What a waste! Such a brilliant musical trio and they are bent and determined to parish like old fools. Especially Neil Pert, he is a brilliant lyricist and poet, yet like a blind pharisee he turns on the very same wisdom that speaks to the heart!

    Very Disappointed! 777

  • The Fall of Lucifer 12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,[b] son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;

  • God creates the souls of every human being on earth and gives them the task of life. One's environment, influence, judgement, or point of view determines how that being will live. Those who have lived among the wrong influences can develop aggression, and they can cause suffering to others. Therefore, evil is caused. People are responsible for themselves. Whoever is lead the right path through positive influence and does good along the way through life is given the reward of eternal paradise.

  • @CascadiaTrucker That's just what you believe. And thanks for sharing, but I don't agree.

  • awesome lyrics and music, love rush.

  • I admire your desire to use Peart lyrics to suggest that jesus was real and god exists. Sadly that is a delusion, and most of your examples are using his lyrics out of context. Neil Peart is a strong atheist, and has often backed Dawkins on his Book God Delusion. His lyrics, such as Freewill and Faithless clearly suggest his belief that there is no god, and humanity should use the freewill of reason to decide our own "destiny". there is no immortal power controling us. I will chose freewill.

  • acctually, clearly u r not that much of a rush fan. he mentions heaven angels and many other religeous aspects in his songs. he is actually agnostic and he isnt a "strong" athiest.thhis song is just sayin i have the right to believe what i believe

  • He is an athiest, and a strong one. You have obviously NOT read his books, nor many of his lyrics. Freewill? and his admiration of Richard Dawkins book "God delusion". How anyone can read this stuff and believe he is anything but an athiest is beyond me! And how anyone can use his lyrics to support the existance of a god is just amazing. & you don't know me nor how big a rush fan i am. Have you read lyrics to armour and sword? Far Cry? Spindrift and other tracks, can you not understand his anger

  • yes hey may be but he also does put referances of religeon[in a positive way] in his lyrics. i will have to disagree when u say his "anger" niel dosent write negative lyrics. he writes about life. and yes i have every album of thiers so ive heard every song. bbut he definently dosent put down reliegeon which dosent make him a strong athiest.

  • Jesus isn't a "religion" he is God's son sent to save us from our sins, not to bring about a legalistic rules system.

  • @bytor765 there's not even an archeological proof that Jesus ever existed.

  • Groovalicious :) Thanks for the response :D

  • Fishhook:

Neil and Albert would call WHO an idiot?

The fact that you sum up thousands of years of traditional behavior as pathetic and ignorant shows you don't understand the first thing about the reasons for religion, and the way OUT of religion

  • 9:07... you say God "cannot" do something.

    So obviously not all-powerful then?

    Religious belief is a mind-virus.

  • where did you get that cute phrase? made it up?

You will never prove anything o those who are religious by insulting them.

Just call them as they are.

  • Philc2:

"Just call them as they are."

    I did.

"Mind-virus"? I heard it somewhere, and it makes sense to me. Religious belief is propogated mainly by parents to their children and is very good at protecting itself from being removed - ie making questioning a sin, death to apostates in some religions, "our God is the only true God", etc etc.I think it's a very good analogy.

By the way, your second sentence is more accurate if you remove the last 3 words. Gotta say *something*.

  • Neil and Albert would likely both call you an idiot. I definitely do.

Religion is a poor attempt at an ego-crutch for those too ignorant and pathetic to face the reality that there is no "higher purpose" to life. There does not need to be a "why" for life. It simply is.

  • indeed...

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. Mankind seems to think the universe exists for us... how ego-centric.
