  • 737.800 I could tell by the control yoke

  • @emb1305 Wrong... this not even a 737NG series!! Im guesing a 737-300 or 737-500, look at the engine instruments!! Only the 737 classics have that!

  • FUCK UNSKIPPABLE ADS!!!!!

  • this is not the concorde!!

  • @dealerovski82 Nope. It's Luftansa German Airlines.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • ohh u lucky bi*ch :/

  • Tegel, not tegal, but besides this awesome vid :)

  • omg youve been blessed

  • You were interested in what they did! Yes back in those days . Of course we love the flight simulator games but thank you for the real thing.

  • @77nova454 well I always use to crash on landings in flight sim. LOL I wanted to see how the profesionals do it. So I was so pleased when I got this once in a lifetime chance

  • wow how the hell did you manage that and on that note a subs comin at ya

  • @77nova454 Prior to 9/11. Back in the days that if you asked you could go into the flight deck for a few minutes during a flight. I'de been into the flight deck early in the flight. The capt knew I was interested in what they do. I was more than surprised when the Stewardess came down just prior to the start of our decent into London, (whilst still over mainland europe) and asked me if I would go and see the Capt again as he wanted to tell me something. That being join them for the landing

  • cool

  • cool

  • Wow, you lucky duck.

    Luv, kisses, hugs and pisses,

    Mooz

  • Cool...

  • I think since 11th September 2002 it is way difficulter to get into the cockpit. You can be happy for those pictures.

What you should also try is to get a flight with a Cessna. Feels way different than in these jumbos also because you're also seeing much more.

  • I was very lucky. I havent been in a cessna, but when I went to the states part of the flight was in a de havilland dash 8.

    watch?v=a3xdDx-jgtw

  • @paul1967uk It was 11 Sept, 2001 not 2002...you dumb ass! I am an American and we will never forget that day!

  • @reneeloliver It was BattlefieldDokter you dumb ass who said 2002, not me. So before you comment, check who your reply is to.

  • @BattlefieldDoktor You mean 2001? :)

  • how do pilots know where they are going?

  • @jonathankitchener Satalitte Navagation

  • @jonathankitchener They have a Flight Managment Computer they program before takeoff, which takes them along a route of waypoints using autopilot

  • i was invited on virgin in about 2003 when i was about 5 or 6 yers old

  • youre one lucky kid

  • 737-200?

  • 737-300

  • Lufthansa is of course one of the best and safest in Europe. But I experienced one of the most turbulent flight with Lufthansa. Either 17 or 18 Sept 2001 Istanbul - Munchen. We all thought that was it! Shaking like a leaf.

  • rattling thing is called a field interface stabilizer... maintains pitch.

  • yep. 6 months later and that would be illegal

  • that was before 911, man i miss those days when you could go to the flight-deck

  • its actually called a cockpit.

  • Actually pilots tend to use the term "flight deck "now.

  • Yep that's why I don't do flying! "

Jump seat"? Is that how you get off quick when it goes wrong?

  • that was great, I was accepted to pilot training in the USAF in Sep 68, but got drafted into the US Army in Jun 68 - either way I ended up in Vietnam - flying over Vietnam would have been much better, I think and led to a better life - strike three again,my life really sucked-talk about bad timing

  • That is awesome !!!!

I would have love to have been there :-)

    Look at all those dials....hummm

  • That was pretty cool Paul...

  • Terrific and exciting all the same time!

  • Class, When I was a lad they let me into the cockpit at night and below was a sea of white cloud glowing under a moon...best job ever:)

  • I only flew with Lufthansa once, and it was the best flight I've ever been on...

  • That is so cool!

  • Thanks Diana

  • Cool!

  • Thanks for the comment. It was "Cool" being able to be in a flight deck for a landing.

  • Wow what an awesome experience Paul! Thanks for sharing the ride with us. -Jim

  • Thanks Jim, it was an awesome experience.

  • quality! what is the thing in the middle that keeps rattling?!

  • still a good video, though. Even in higher quality.

  • See you came back for more. You must like it.

    LOL

  • I'm with Hugh on this one.

  • my reply to you, Same as I gave Huey,

    What Ever Biatch

  • mikma was here

  • Thanks for being here Mikma

  • awesome video

  • Thanks

  • Shit a re-run... Only better quality.

  • What Ever~ Biatch

  • Sure was

  • Whos holding the camera, seems a very old video (2001?)

  • I was holding the camera Stuart

  • Wow Paul, I would have peed myself if I had been watching the plane coming down from the cockpit..

  • Believe me I was shiting myself when I first spotted the runway and realised that we were going to hit it at 160 mph or more

  • Wow, that was great Paul.

I've always wanted to do that & have often wondered what it actually looked like.

    Thanks for sharing mate :)

  • It was one hell of a great event, I was like a 5 year old on Christmas day morning.

  • I can well believe that & i think i'd have been the same :)

  • Pretty damn cool vid ((Paul))

  • Thanks

  • What an experience

  • Sure was

  • Cool beans!

  • Pilots are absolute heroes.

  • You said it

  • If you only knew the countless miles I've logged in Flight Simulator programs since the 90's - I still fly around in Flight Sim 2004 and seeing the real thing is always a rush. Flying is one of my dreams.

Even on video the blood pressure rises seeing this! Now tell me it isn't marvelous to convert some of those classic vids that you have on 8mm :)

Wish I had footage like that!

  • That was the reason I got to do this, the pilot asked if I had ever been in a flight deck before and I told him apart from quick visits, only in Flight Sim, he talked about flight sim a bit and how he used it. Then a little later I got the invite

  • It is interesting, but the outside was washed out. I wonder how the pilots do remember all those knobs, I forget how to turn the comp on at times ;))

  • I have no idea how they remember all the knobs, buttons and dials

  • It's easy, i know all those instruments.. just got to spend enough time with them, learn them.. practice them etc :)

  • Glad you had that experience! I think I would have SHIT if I'd been up there!

  • I was shitting it as we approached the runway

  • cool video Paul!! Always like seeing the toys up front! :)

  • It was Peter, this was on old 8mm tape of mine, It's one of those events which I'l never forget.

  • Thats really cool Paul. I would love to go to the flightdeck one day. Was it fun to be on the flightdeck.

  • Fun, it was buzzing m8. I doubt very much that any airline would allow this anymore.

  • I have to agree it would be problem nowadays which is a shame, I would have loved to have done that.

  • Oh how cool!

Yeah, an opportunity to grab this kind of video just doesn't exist anymore, does it.

  • Curt thanks for popping by, I just wish I could of been in one for a take off also. That would of been so cool, this as been sat on old 8mm camcorder tape until today, just pleased I was able to get the tape to transfer

  • Now ya got me curious just how much stock footage you're sitting on.

    :-)

  • I have no idea, I have so many old 8mm camcorder tapes. I need to go through them all

  • cool vid man.

  • It was a cool day Stu

  • Thats soo cool! What kinda plane was it?

  • Boeing something or other cannot remember the actual type. I was speechless when I got the invite for the landing.

  • Well its something one couldnt ever do again after the events 6 months after this...LOVED watching this!!

  • Not always the case Stu, okay flight deck visits were common prior to 9/11 I used to have one on every flight I took, but a year after 9/11 SpanAir allowed my mum her first flight deck visit, sure not for a landing but just a visit during the flight.

  • WOW! Now THAT would be cool. I'm surprised they let you film that -- of course this was March of 2001 not after 9-11 2001. Great stuff, I enjoyed that footage. I'm a chicken on take-offs and landings myself. :)

  • It was cool Tim, I don't think I will ever forget the buzz I got when I sat in the flight deck that day.
