The remake seems to be a bit more in turned to this generation and only this generation. I don't really see it lasting through the test of time. Don't get me wrong. I think Tim Burton makes some great movies, but I don't thing this was his best work. The original is better by far.

I love Tim Burton movies. I think the man has such a brilliant mind. Some of my favorite movies include Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare before Christmas, n both Batman n Batman returns. With that said i didn't care to much for the remake of Willy Wonka n the chocolate factory. I'm not saying Johnny Depp's acting was horrible in this film but to compare it or say it's surpassing the orginal Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) well that's just ridiculous

@scotsman125 What, original film? as in 1971 film? This story is from a novel, you'll see this 'original' film is far more close to the book's storyline. This one is more based on the second book that was NOT written by the same author whch is called, charlie and the great crystal elevator. I'm not saying this movie is bad, trust me, I love Tim Burton and Johny Depp, but I feel like people are giving the 'original one' little credit.

a. They make Charlie & Grandpa Joe to look like Americans.

b. It foucs on too much Wonka.

c. The scary tunnel almost get Grandpa Joe a heart attack!
