NEVER USE PLASTIC WRAP. My tattooist will not even allow it in his shop. You really do run the risk of infection, and the real chance of sweating out the ink.
if someone could help me please, well I just got a half sleeve done on saturday Tuesday, March 15, 2011 on my forearm and well I did as followed for the first 3 day I washed my tattoo with anti bacterial soap then applied Aquaphor, did this 3 times a day and washed the old ointment off before putting on new, now I wrapped my tattoo with plastic wrap at night to prevent infection but now on (day 3) my tattoo has pimples on it and should i keep applying aquaphor or what? someone please help!
The best thing to do is go see your tattoo artist AND a doctor. If I use anything at all, I use an aftercare like HELIX from the tattoo goo line. I highly recommend seeing a doctor right away.
@philly442 pimples are sometimes a result of keeping it to wet with the ointment your using. You wanna make sure that the tattoo looks shiny but not wet. after you apply the ointment it should just have a slight sheen to it. For now since you have the pimples DO NOT pop them, just allow them to go away on their own. popping them could result in loss of color. Hope this helps
some "pimples" that people get are just a rash from shaving prior to the tat.

what does it mean if the ink isn't applying to the skin correctly???

The 'pimples' could be ingrown hairs from where your arm was shaved. This happens to be almost every time I get tattooed
