Patty Cake? We played the 7th toughest schedule in the country last season Kenpom stats. Both UNC and dook played 9 teams that finished in the top 25. UNC went 8-1, dook went 4-5. I think that says alot. How would Lawson know more about post play than Frasor, if you reasoning Frasor knows nothing is bc he's too short?! Lawson is 5'11 tops!
Have been a Duke fan for years. Kid looks good. But lets see how he does in a tuff acc opp. arena. Aginst tuff acc defenders. Before we say he is the real deal. Remember Josh McRoberts. I do however like the high arc on dre's shot. Makes it awful hard to block.
Things are going well for him in summer school. Hes about to finish up his last credit needed to enroll at Duke. He was carrying a 3.2 GPA and performed well on the entrance exams. He is the same age as a graduated HS senior. His grade level was changed when he transferred from a public to a private school. His credits are straight and he will be on the 09-10 Duke squad!!! Suck on that tarholes!!!!
technically hes not leaving college early he transfered and started the same grade over again so he's practically a senior, if it makes you feel better. I know Email wont be missed once Dawkins takes the court

Schyer is more of a scorer that a shooter. Redick was a shooter. I think that he is/should be a very very good SG though. I would guess not as good of a shot as redick and not as good as a slasher as Henderson but i perfect mix, which is what you would want.
i hear people saying he is the best pure shooter we have had since redick. anyone able to back that up? cause scheyer is a pretty great pure shooter. and even paulus had a high 3 point percentage. one article called dawkins a redick/henderson hybrid.

I suspect that the lineup will change several times through the season just like last year. I look for Nolan and Jon to split time at the point most of the year, with Jon taking over towards the end. Dawkins will get more time than people think and might become a starter early. Kelly and Mason are virtually interchangable. Zoo will get starts early but that will fade in conference play. Thomas will get the most starts of his career this season.

IMO Elliot Williams was a bust. Andre Dawkins will be much much better his freshman year compared to Williams. He has a type of confidence that EMail didnt have plus he has an outstanding stroke.

i can see thomas starting but our lignup would be huge if Zoubek started and ive heard that he's gotten a lot better in the offseason. i think/hope hell be much better plus seeing we finally have another big in Mason P. That scenario just got a little better, add a year of experience for Dawkins! YES! What looked to be a down year might not be so bad. We have athleticism again and we will have the big man to ease up the pressure for when the shots aren't falling (Mason).

andre dawkins is one of the only people i see actual real talent in on their recruiting videos. what i mean is, the kind of stuff he does looks much more mature as a basketball player than the rest of the high school prospects. he plays on a college level. hopefully he'll stick around 4 years. we'll need him.
my cousin plays with this dude, he is a CERRAZY talent on the first game of his aau season he went off for 8, count them, 8 threes in the first quarter, he had like 42 points for the game

From his sweet release to his bouncy athleticism, he reminds me a lot of a '92shooting guard from Merced, California... He obviously patterns his game after Ray Allen.
He has Gerald Henderson leaping ability, but has a way better jumper. My only knocks on him are that he is not aggresive enough and needs to work on his handles. That being said he is only a junior and should improve on that before going to Duke.

IMO Elliot Williams was a bust. Andre Dawkins will be much much better his freshman year compared to Williams. He has a type of confidence that EMail didnt have plus he has an outstanding stroke.
Major upgrade if you ask me. I just hope Smith steps up like he need to do

Did anyone else notice what number Andre was wearing? Duke seems to have a success with shooting guards named Dawkins. Here's hoping Andre will continue that trend.

i cannot wait...now having him come in a year early doesnt make the elliot williams transfer as depressing...we definately go from a possible 4th straight dissapointing tournament run to a final four contendor...thank goodness

i hope zoobs got a lot better...but thats what i heard last year and he didnt ( i know he has had injuries though). i dont see him starting. and dang now miles should be like 250. i really hope we get harrison especially if kyle leaves next year and he prob will

i can see thomas starting but our lignup would be huge if Zoubek started and ive heard that he's gotten a lot better in the offseason. i think/hope hell be much better plus seeing we finally have another big in Mason P. Ive also heard that miles has put on 25lbs of muscle! and yes 2010 w/ Curry and hopefully barnes we should be preseason #1 that year especially if we go far this year.

thomas will start because of def and experience, zoubek has had his chances and has failed. dont get your hopes up until next year though. as long as we get barnes or singler stays 2010 should be the year

Duke went from another sweet 16 team to a final 4 team w/ Dawkins. I can see the lineup being

F: Singler
F: Mason P.
C: Zoubec
and Dawkins, Kelly, Miles P, Thomas off the bench. We should be the best team since 2004 IF Coach K keeps them fresh!

If Singler were to somehow stay, Duke would be so good 2010-2011, Knight or Irving?, Harrison Barnes?, Andre Dawkins, Seth Curry, Ryan Kelly, Mason and Miles, Thornton, Hairston and SINGLER...

That scenario just got a little better, add a year of experience for Dawkins! YES! What looked to be a down year might not be so bad. We have athleticism again and we will have the big man to ease up the pressure for when the shots aren't falling (Mason).

andre dawkins is one of the only people i see actual real talent in on their recruiting videos. what i mean is, the kind of stuff he does looks much more mature as a basketball player than the rest of the high school prospects. he plays on a college level. hopefully he'll stick around 4 years. we'll need him.

He has Gerald Henderson leaping ability, but has a way better jumper. My only knocks on him are that he is not aggresive enough and needs to work on his handles. That being said he is only a junior and should improve on that before going to Duke.
