Ummm... THAT was special folks! Kudos to all, but Jeb & Tara are really a very unique duo... the proverbial core of this unassuming, highly entertaining, evolving band.
@skateheavy there was a reason for that. Video was applied to a completely different audio source. Sync was a huge problem and I didn't have a lot of usable cutaways to use. By the time I got to that point in the song I had run out of stuff to use, so I ran credits. I actually feel that it was more dramatic and a dynamic boost to come back to the live performance after the roll. But anyway, glad you enjoyed it.
i see them like 5 times a year, i actually talked to jeb and tara and the greatblue heron festival, hands down my favorite band in the world.... live long and prosper donna the buffalo fans... right on!
This is an example of the video editor getting in the way of an otherwise great video. Here you have a great performance of a great song. The sound is excellent. The camera work is adequate. All the editor had to do is is peice together something that reflects the performance. WTF is with all the added still shots of swirly patterns? I guess this is what happens with todays attention deficiencies. If they would have done no editing at all it would have been better than this.
I can explain. This was done with one small hand-held camera. The sound was a completely different live recording, so there were sync issues. I filmed some cut aways for filler, but not enough, so I had to find fill for the times when the vocals went out of sync. Finally - this was my first attempt at shooting and editing. So - there you go.
That explains a lot. I was frustrated earlier and thinking wtf? If this was shot with a hand held I say good job! And thanks for sharing. It's a great song by a great band.
You did a great job with this video - Thanks for the post - We can all tell you poured a good amount of effort into it for which we are grateful. I just turned a friend onto Donna with your vid.
Invite this guy go to go to Blue Heron or Grassroots and make a better video - He can post it and we'll critique it.
I have seen many of the most talented musicians in the world at Skippers Smokehouse often for $20.00 or less. I've seen there: John Mayall (a living legend & father of the British Blues), the best living blues harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby Rush, John Hammond, The Blind Boys Of Alabama ect. Every Thursday night the excellent Grateful Dead tribute band Uncle John's Band. It's the coolest place in the world.
really did like most of live portions!, hard to believe dtb however is suffering from underexposure of stellar, tight-knit multi-camera video which is commensurate with their live performances. unless i've missed something like grassroots etc, footage, perhaps from fab 2007 set (audio) which is now on archive (!), hopefully caught visually by somebody please, if i (only) had hammer..........
o my god running credits over the best part (5:30) in the best song? is silly, unless of course the synch was not possible. i liked everything but the last third.
yeah, sync was a major problem - live performance with a recorded track - it was a struggle - but not bad for a first attempt, no? I'd love to do another song sometime with more cameras and good live sound for an easier sync.
sweet major modal romp replete with physics dept.fractals for the altered, but imho around 5:19 the visual should jump close-up on top of tara and jed for the tumultuous crescendo, and stay on them for the duration without any of the ensuing distractions because they rock and deserve to be grokked
Nope, it's outside of Washington, D.C. Actually, they are from upstate New York, Trumansburg to be exact, but they do play in FLA alot. Thanks for your kind words.

Thanks for the video, great job.
I just found out about this band listening to Margaritaville Channel (Jimmy Buffett) on Sat radio.
Needless to say--I will be buying their CD's--will see them if they ever come to the midwest.
