The first time I heard this song... it really reminded me to Emil Amos and his amazing body of work in HOLY SONS, his solo project. I'd say more: the chords, the structure of the song, even the arrangements fingerpointed to "I'm surrounded", from the album "Criminal's return".
Actually, you can trade the lead voices and they fit like a glove.
@ThaPacsta Umm, you are musically ignorant, that is based on what you said. Ok I am narrow mind. Lol I am not going to call you names even other then say you are a stupid motherfucker, of course, good day sir, enjoy making 0 sense and being immature/stupid/musically ignorant and a narrow minded bitch.
@ThaMuthaphukkin Musically ignorant* sigh... your probably the same retard. Now then I can call you stupid based on your comment but I won't, good day dip shit. Doh!
@EeroJames "Musically ignorant". Thats such a snobbish phrase, boy. These bullshit comments ruin the music. I wish I hadn't read them because now I feel the duty to tell you to shut the fuck up and go insult someone in person. Doh!
@ThaPacsta Man, how I hate musicaly ignorant people that think if it doesn't sound the way they think it should it is crap. To put things politely, take your head out of your ass and experience new things.
I love when a favorite artist of mine comes out with new music and it blows my mind just like when I first heard their music. I wish their was an Ebert & Roeper 2 thumbs up button.
I've listened to this song nonstop on a loop and I can't seem to wear it out. This is indeed classic Dj Shadow. I'm glad he's back doing what he does best. His genius purely shows from this work. Just be yourself and your genius will shine
this is cool man.. not the biggest fan of def surrounds us. i respect him doing something original and creative and it sounds like he really put his heart into it so i'm cool with whatever he does and that song despite it not being my style. this right here i'm feeling though

"The less you know, the better": one of the best albums from 2011, i think.
The rhythm guitar reminds me of "Give up the ghost" from Radiohead ;)

The guitar riff sounds like some chords from Neil Young's 'Down by the River'. I wonder how Neil would feel about that? lol

Its a nice song for sure, but as petergalbraith128 mentioned, check out Incubus - Drive and realise the, ahem inspiration for this song.
