Thanks for the video. I had the radio premiere with Kim Mitchell on tape. He explained that this song took up more tape than the rest of the album as it was record live off the floor. Also, Kim Mitchell joked about the drummers not agreeing on the parts. I saw Max Webster at Maple Leaf Gardens, New Years Eve. At midnight, Geddy walked out and they performed Battle Scar.
@lavaxtris1 Geddy Lee was the only one that played on it. Also, I don't think this band has anything on dvd or video in the US. I could be wrong about that though.
@leconnaway well you are wrong about one thing. Rush as a whole band played the song between sets with Max Webster, and Neil Peart has stated that he used the song as a warmup while doing so.
@leconnaway Wrong. All of Rush played on it. I am surprised that anyone whose heard the song can't hear the distinctive playing of Peart, Lee and Lifeson. It's so fucking obvious.
@lavaxtris1 That is a good question...being that this is so old!! i have the vinyl album of universal juveniles & i have heard it was recorded the same time as "moving pictures" at the same studio!! but have never seen any footage...hopefully some day RUSH will release some footage on a DVD as a bonus!! i'm shure there is some out their in the vault! because this would be the same time they shot all the other videos for "moving pictures" album!!
Pye Dubois wrote a great lyric. I wonder what he's up to these days...
