I would say that Obama made some really good points, in the exchange with Joe. If you prop up the middle class economically, companies like the one that Joe runs could see gains in profits. This is because the middle class could afford his services, which in turn could offset the loss due to a 3% increase in taxation. He also made the point that as a worker making under 250k, under his tax plan he would have payed less in taxes, which would have allowed him to reach his goal sooner.

Note: Lower AND middle-class will be getting tax breaks. Middle class is nowhere near $250,000. "Only 6% of Americans make more than $96,000 a year." You don't get a tax increase unless you are $603,000+! So that's sort of "upper-UPPER-class" if you will ;] Nothing 97% of us Americans have to worry about. And what people aren't realizing: You get taxed AFTER that amount, not FROM that amount!! Big difference!! People just don't understand how taxes work I guess...

This is a common misunderstanding about Obama's plan. His tax plans will cut taxes for those families making less than 250000 a year(Individuals making less than 200000 will get a tax cut.) This is actually the vast majority of the middle class so that would help. Also, I wrote an entire essay on foreign policy and Iraq for my school's political science magazine. I will send it to you. Not really. As a voter the only thing that I care about are the issues that could affect me economically. If your voting for someone who shares the same religious beliefs as you for instance, they might not be committing them selves to issues that pertains to your own economic stability, but you still would vote for them nevertheless. This would do away with the accountability aspect of voting, because they can do what every they want, as long as they support certain social issues.

I would say that Obama made some really good points, in the exchange with Joe. If you prop up the middle class economically, companies like the one that Joe runs could see gains in profits. This is because the middle class could afford his services, which in turn could offset the loss due to a 3% increase in taxation. He also made the point that as a worker making under 250k, under his tax plan he would have payed less in taxes, which would have allowed him to reach his goal sooner.
