  • so one way or the other you kill both Orsino and Meridith, it was a bit too easy, but i should try killing them on nightmare diff. my party was PURE DPS Merril+Anders+Varric+Hawke dual daggers, it was child play on normal lol ^^

  • I went with the mage ending to see what happens when someone goes with templars. Completely taken by surprise. On the mage playthrough Orsino still insists on blending all those bodies together and attacking me even though I helped the stupid fuck. Then I killed Meredith, which I fully intended to do.

But in this playthrough, you help the fucking templars, kill the the deranged mages, but then all of a sudden, Meredith out of nowhere wants to kill you? What the fuck Bioware?

  • @Michael5029 It's simple: EA wanted two boss fights, one of these two wasn't supposed to happen.

  • I rather templar dictature than another magisters' rule. Imperium is pure evil - slavers, murders for rituals, consorting with demons and the most evil act of them was creation of the darkspawn. Templars are brutals, but don't use demons and don't get possessed by them so easily.

  • Knight Commander Gregor would shit his Pants.

  • quick question: Is the voice actress that voices Meredith also voice Kreia from KotOR TSL? They sound similar to me

  • Am I the only one that thinks a First Enchanter Blood Mage is scary as hell?

  • On the beginning I suported mages, but after Grace's betrayl, Quentin's insanity and finally Anders' terrorism I decided to support templars. After all Orsino knew about Quentin, but did nothing to stop him from killing Leandra.

  • I really wonder what the 'original plan' is.

I'm hoping for some post-story DLCs, for example with Leliana searching for the champion or something!

  • When I first played I sided with the Templars just because I actually like Knight Commander Meredith. She's a unique female character. Plus she has the best line in a video game: "Blessed are those who stand before the corrupt and the wicked and do not falter".

  • Why would anyone side with the Templars?

  • Continuing from my last post: My first playthrough Hawke sided with the mages, but you could make an argument for siding with the Templars in order to make sure the truly innocent mages weren't killed out of hand (especially since that's explicitly an option).

  • ORSINO HELPED KILL MY HAWKES MOTHER!!!! SHOULD HAVE SIDED WITH THOSE TEMPLARS

  • Mereddith is such a bitch.

  • It was wrong to execute innocent mages for the mass murdering crime of one conniving backstabbing shit of a mage in your party, so I sided with Orsino.

Besides, he seemed the more reasonable. And that from watching this that bitch Meredith would have turned on me anyway in spite of helping her, so I'm glad with my decision.

  • Templars > Mages

  • The problem with Mages in Dragon Age, the second one especially, is that they are terminally self-destructive. Almost every single Mage who escapes or is given even a little freedom turns into a damned Blood Mage or Demon (Most of the time both). Although I find it kind of funny that Bethany and you, if you are a Mage and do not pick Blood Magic, are completely fine. Hawke's - Too sexy for demons ;)

  • @Nexc13 To be fair to the mages: the Veil's thin around Kirkwall, so they're especially vulnerable there.

In fact, there are several reasons why you'd get so many bad things happening in Kirkwall.

That said, I can think of four mages off the top of my head that didn't become Blood Mages or Abominations and were apostates. Anders, before he met Justice. And the Hawkes.

We tend to see the worst of the apostates, which doesn't really present the whole issue.

  • @Nexc13 Here....the general idea is that violence begets violence, i think. The mages turn to blood magic in DA2 because it's the only reliable way to escape/fight off the templars, once they start REALLY cracking down on mage freedoms: and that, of course, turns the mages into exactly what meredith was trying to root out in the first place. If you are cruel or evil enough to someone, eventually they will snap and throw the evil right back at you, whether out of anger or desperation.

  • @psychicllamakiller Until the ultimate violence ends all the other ones. The Tevinter Imperium was destroyed by a botched experiment, otherwise it was as stable as rock.

  • @Nexc13

Pay attention to the lore, it's Kirkwall that was causing it.

  • At least Orsino turns on us because he's desperate.

Meredith, she's a very disturbed crazy woman who turns on us even when we side with the templars, so... yeah.

  • Makes you wonder what happened to the Warden. I mean, my warden was a bad ass female Dalish Elf who fucked Leliana on multiple occasions. Where could she have gone?

  • @killerdudecris

According to Bioware, in the un-confirmed Dragon age 3, they highly speculate the Champion and Warden will meet up with eachother,

  • @killerdudecris Hmm, mine was a noble man who sacrificed himself for ferelden, i know where he is. Ashes to ashes... dust to dust.

  • @ContinentalPatriot Awesome. But I think I remember my warden agreeing to travel with her love, Leliana, around the world or something like that. WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE.

  • Lying bastard, he gave Quentin the ritual in the first place.

  • I will NEVER side with the Templars. Never.

  • @DarkBlueDragoon25 And you will never become viscount never.

  • Am I the only one who finds Meredith hot?

  • That's some DOOM shit right there.

  • The very last page in the book is a picture of Morrigan.

  • Cullen is going to be important in DA3, otherwise Meredith would have fucked him up.

  • @monkfishification I hope so the poor guy can't seem to catch a break

  • DEAR LORD SHE HAS SOUL EDGE WE'RE ALL FUCKED

  • I found it very hard who to side with at the end, i eventually chose templars after about 20 mins of thinking haha

  • @PxChAoS16 I side with the mages even if every other mage you meet in kirkwall is an insane lunatic. I do it mostly on principal. Just don't believe in locking people up because they were born a certain way.

  • @watchinginaz yeah i was thinking that but when i saw all the abominations and demons i was kind of glad i sided with the templars

  • @watchinginaz I might eventualy side with the templars in a playthrough where Bethany becomes a Grey Warden or dies in the deep roads although I don't ever see myself killing her off in the Deep Roads. But I won't side with the Templars while she is in the circle, and for playthroughs where I am a mage myself I won't side with the templars.

  • I wish flemeth was playable in DA2. that would be awesome

  • meredith may be scary but she was an awsome character in the story

  • do anyone notice how Flemeth is always involve in something by playing a small part which save or help important people or she did many things she saved the warden, saved king cailan once and warned him about logain but he didn't listen, she or at least her book taught Morrgain the dark ritual that could save the warden, she saved Hawke and now there is a Mage and templar war

  • i join to the mages and become the LEGEND and my story continues in SKYRIM xD

  • And then the mighty Knight Comander Meridith rammed her sword in the ground and awakened the sleeping transformers of kirkwall to defeat the Champion who had hot Sex with four of his companions ....

And this is how the world still was destroyed after the Warden ended the Blight in an epic Battle ...

Hope you anjoyed Dragon Age 2 :'(

  • Was that Bethany?

  • you can tell they got lazy in this game, the harvester from dragon age dlc of golems of arkman what ever its called.

  • Is the person who kneels infront of meredith an actual character?

  • THAT THING WAS PWETTY!

  • @theninjaswerehere Yet, isnt that the main reason? Why would the seeker need Varric if the world wasnt fucked over? Thats the big complex of a role play game, it could go one way or the other. Plus I hear their making downloadable contect for the game. I for one support that 100% yet it is only my opinion. I hope that they do make downloadable content. But the main point is that either way for the game to make since and work is that the world would have to be along with everyone else indeed woul

  • That's nice Cullen. Committing mass genocide isn't 'going too far' but arresting a figure of importance is. Very nice morals.

  • @MagatsutheCalamity What do you expect from a guy called Cullen?

  • I just couldn't side with the Templars all that religious nonsense and saying they have mages under control like animals hit's close to home same with the DAO with city elves just want to jump up and yell that Mages aren't all evil, and elves are people too and stab them in the face lol

  • Forget the mages. They need to establish some civil order. You get attacked by all kinds of gangs just walking around at night. No, no, Aveline, don't lift a finger. I'll just kill these hundred million peeps for you by smashing the a button a million times.

  • The grey warden is gone, too? Oh man, I hope in DA3 they explain that!!!! O.O

  • @Nanozom I agree 150%! I did the same thing, mage went with the Templar, Warrior, and Rough went with the mages. They actually already started working on Dragon Age 3, but they said they are more concerned with the expansions of 2 right now.

  • This so annoyed me. We've got Meridith who is a religious nut bag, I believe in god, but cannot stand overly religious zealot nut bags. Orsino who stays quiet while all this crazy mage shit is going on then uses blood magic himself in the end -_-. Then the whiny activist Anders who then goes all radical terrorist on you... I cannot stand people like that either... He better not be in DA3 or any of the expansions lol -_-

  • How do you get betheny to be a grey warden?

  • @rogue90000 bring her and Anders with you on the Deep Roads expedition. If you bring her but not Anders she dies.

  • Are you shiiting me!!?! You help her and she STILL goes crazy? I don't understand...you just can't win...SMH

  • 4:53 most epic moment in the game

  • Well shave my back and call me a elf...meredith was right!

  • Yeah, because all blood mages are pure evil... I mean just look at Merril... I think my bunny slippers just ran for cover ¬_¬

  • @TheMaximusprime13

Most of them are, and even Merrill is a bit more malicous and wants to further the use of blood magic where the other two mages dislike Blood magic as much as they despise the Chantry for their oppression. And most if not all Tevinter Maleficars are evil.

  • does it matter how your game ends? because i sided with the templars and had to kill mages, but i never got round to fighting her, was i inpatient? or if you side with mages to get to fight her straight away?

  • @Iv83bloodknight The mages all use blood magic and summon demons in the Templar version too.

  • Interesting, Orsino isnt as crazy in the mage version.

  • What sword is that? lol, I have all the champion armor, I think I might have sold that weapon.

  • i actually agreed with anders,

the mages had to do something to get rid of their oppressers or it could never of happened, every war revolution needs a spark

  • So, kill someone because you fear them or their potential... *sigh* I thought we learned from the Qunari threat that this never ends well...

  • I still like Orsino better than Knight-Commander Bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • The Warden, Hawk and what ever hero we play in DA3 would make an epic party

  • @Qdot543 it really would

  • hey what if you choose no side what happens?

  • Templars need to take a Grey Warden stance. Vigilance is key. Don't coral the mages in a tower and don't follow them around like they need to be watched all the time. Let the mages have the freedom but keep the Templars. They should have no authority over mages until a mage actually did something wrong. Treat them like any other person for God's sake... >.> Plus, Ander's is a douche. He should have targeted the Templars not the chantry sisters and grand cleric. Merideth was the bitch, kill her.

  • @ThomasNoblitt The templars in Ferelden were like that and look at it now destroyd. It has been rebuilt but almost all of the mages were blood mages or dead so being so vigilant is wery bad. Also Meredith was corupted by the idol in the sword so she isnt to blame. The tevinter imperium dosent belive in adraste and so the templars dont mind good blod mages at all and its normal being a mage there so that is the best choice for a nice time as a mage but there is lots of slavers so thats bad.

  • @svord000 The Templars in Ferelden werent like that. The reason Uldred and the other mages turned to blood magic in the first place was because they wanted out of the tower, to be free from Chantry rule. They kept the mages in the tower only to come out when they were needed. As for Meridith, would you let her live? The fact of the matter is that she was sick even before she was corrupted. Take it from the Dalish. Their keepers turn to BMag sometimes, and they don't have incidents like Ferelden

  • @ThomasNoblitt In-game i asked the secondincommand templar abaut ferelden and he said that he was delivering love messeges from the mages to others. Bethany liked it in the circle and the Enchanters and mages that were meeting with the templars were allowed to go outside and so only the apprentices were keept inside. And look at meril a Bmage that almost opend a demon portal because the˝spirit˝ asked her to do so, proving that if the keeper didnt secrafice her self kirkwall would have demons.

  • @svord000 Bethany probably likes the circle because she could be free of being hunted like a dog. As for Merrill, this is where the 'vigilant' Templars would come in. The Dalish shunned her and she would be suspected of blood magic and shadowed. She would never have gotten as far as she did, the Templars would have intervened. Plus the keeper said the clan kills them if they're dangerous. The mages were only allowed outside of the tower when they were need. They were kept on a very short leash.

  • @ThomasNoblitt Bethany liked it there because she got free food and free book. And outside it she would eather had none or kill for it. Now Merrill, wasn't she dangerous if she did manage to open the portal, demons would be pouring out of it and any blood mages would come to them and help. That would be like in ferelden, but there was only 1 demon there and here there would be a lot more. If she was in the tower she wouldnt be a problem, possably even killd because blood magic.

  • How did Merril betray u. I don't recall her doing that 2 me

  • THE CELEBRANT !!!

  • THE CELEBTANT!!

  • This Is What Happens When You Give Old People Crack And Lyrum!

  • @Lostxsoul8o8 yup

  • Interesting alternate path, though either way Meredith dies learning (or never learning) that you can't mess with the Champion of Kirkwall.

  • I fucked Isabella and Merrill.

  • @joshcz Me 2 it's good. I hope that if they make another game, that they bring some of these people back

  • @joshcz me too,lol!isabella is much more tasteful,lol!

  • @joshcz and i fucked sexy Anders ;)

  • @joshcz Like a boss.

  • So now that the crazy bitch is lyrium, can we sell her?

  • god. fuck all templars

  • GOD i hate endings like these. Leaves us in the mystery, =/

  • What confuses me... whys Lilliana there? i hate her -_-

  • can you still play after the campaign?

  • @Hagge12341 nope

  • omg this has to do alot with illuminati

    KILLUMINATI

  • did anyone else find this game ridiculously hard? maybe i didn't level my characters correctly but i was never able to use upgraded armour or even beat the game at the end...maybe im just a noob lol

  • Is the red head girl in the end Leliana?

  • im sure thats the hawke estate at the end when the seeker's are leaving

  • so any side u sided with end up killing them both....

  • eh how is bethany a grey warden and whos is isabella ?????

  • @sandhar95 If you take Bethany with Anders in the party last mission of act one she becomes a gray warden leave her behind she becomes a circle mage instead dont know what happens if you take her with you without anders...Isabella is another character you can get...not sure what circumstances it requires to get her but I just kept heading back once and awhile to the hanged man to get her quest

  • @sandhar95 Lol you fail at this game.

  • For those of you who beleive the Circle in needed..than i agree too but it should of been like a school a place to learn to control yourself and your powers to stay until you passed the Harrowing than you should be allowed to be free with your family. Wynne in DA1 had her son takin away by the Chantry who can justify that if someone were to try any take my child i would of killed all who tried. It wont work till they are treated as equals Anders did that one day it will happen

  • i think there are faults on both sides but having a crazy bitch with authority and the power of an ancient and powerful artifact that just makes her more insane doesnt help at all...

  • how can you get bethany to survive?

if stupid question sorry but i only plays it on xbox

  • @reapinUsoon When you visit the deep roads you must take Anders with you...he will point you in the direction of the Grey Wardens and they will put her through the Joining ritual.

  • @ilima621 oh well yeah i know that i mean that when i play it bethany is killed by tho oger and carter becomes a grey warden instead

  • The one thing I don't get about blood magic is why it can't be used for some noble purpose. If you're careful and steadfast, you can get away with using it to pull of some kickass non-possessive spells. Merrill could be half-proof of that. She used blood magic and bargained with a demon to try and help her people. It may have ultimately backfired to various degrees, but that was only because of the demon. So what's the big fuss about blood magic? It cannot be used for good at all?

  • @1337ijs

The bad side of blood magic outweighs the good. At most you use it to avoid Lyrium abuse like most templars but Blood Magic can also be used from unwlling victims. That was why Tevinter wanted slaves, so they can use the slaves as a pool of magic to serve their own agendas. The Chantry was formed by the former slaves who suffered under the Tevinter Imperium after all.

  • @asaqe3 If that was true then Elves would have been accepted a long time ago.

  • @MagatsutheCalamity

But since they they don't follow andraste and are actually xenophobic...well...it is unlikely they will ever get along

  • I admit Meredith is insane but, the templar do have a purpose, Orsino, Quentin the mage who kills your mother, Grace (growls at that two faced cow) even Anders, all of them deadly, I prefer mages so I can annoy Carver, but I liked that if you dont take him to the deep roads and he becomes a templar, later as you fight Meredith he actually stands up for you (smiles) it's sweet, anyhow like i was saying, Meredith is mad but the templars are doing a good job of their work

  • Ewww! Did any one else puke or at least felt like puking when Orsino transformed.

    <P

  • I'm sooo glad you didn't get floating templar heads without textures (or bodies hence floating heads)

  • first comments i see, nerds spurring politics. join the government

  • lol my reaction to that sword was omg she has soul edge

  • @skull2470 i was just about to comment that

  • @skull2470 now that you mentioned it that sword do looks like sword edge

  • @skull2470 me too!

  • I hope they make another dlc about leilianna

  • Aah, why does Meredith attack Hawke again? Seriously, even the most insane people operate by some kind of reasoning, but she just turns on him without any motive at all.

It's cute that Cullen steps up at the mention of execution, but why were they "planning" to arrest Hawke in the fist place?

I feel like We're being railroaded here, or is it just because i missed something?

  • Holy fucking shit i cant even survive 1 minute in when your in the courtyard. This game is way too hard.

  • @qinoga

This game is really easy it's actually a joke, unless your playing on nightmare, Dragon Age Origins was way harder because the AI was dumb. The fact is games are too easy now, especially in the role playing genre, if this can even be called role playing because the ending is the same no matter what. Its because people aren't smart enough anymore to play real rpg's anymore and that is why they have action rpgs.

  • @qinoga wow! really? seriously? I and many others would beg to differ, especially those who were disappointed with DA2. This game was "simplified" for that exact reason (among others of course...) I really don't know what to tell you.

  • i can't agree with the circle being "necessary" just because mages can be corrupted doesn't mean they need to be watched constantly against their will. ........"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable" - JFK

    Meridith had it coming

  • Leliana is a modern Andraste ?! or what... i mean she heard the makers calling to aid the warden .. and now is some high ranking chantry ....

  • i dont think there is a point in picking a side...ether way u have to fight orsino!!!! danget bioware .....i trusted ur creativity in endiings

  • Your boy is ugkly as hell! look at dat nigga's mustache! Come on now...

  • Meridith is a big bitch.

  • @starl00 Well think about it, what is more dangerous? a group of people with freedom or a group of people with resentment who want their freedom. Like anders said, alot of the reason people are turning to blood magic is because they are so frustrated with templars

  • @TheCasualaddict So far i have yet to see a single decent mage in DA universe, who asks for complete freedom for his kind. Anders is a terrorist, Orsino is an accomplice to murder - check letters at Quentin's base, Tevinter magisters ? - ask Fenris. Morrigan is like child playing with the gun.

Wynne, for example, understood what circles are meant to do and followed it. Most of the mages are quite fine in the circles, unless you put someone like Meredith in charge.

  • @Starl00

Kirkwall is also a special case since the Veil is super thin and people don't know it, this made the mages especially vulnerable to possession and justifies the Templar's strict hold on the kirkwall circle.

  • @Starl00 What about Hawk's sister. She's a decent mage.

  • @Enuvrack If you get Bethany into the Circle, she actually likes it there, and much more than being a Grey Warden, which kinda proves my point. That is till Meredith goes crazy and stuff.

  • @Starl00

The problem is that when someone like Meredith does go crazy, there's nothing to stop her from killing pretty much anyone she likes, guilty or not. The Templars have no checks upon their behavior, and their corruption stems from that. The Circle serves a purpose - as a place of proper education, not as a prison. Giving Templars life-or-death authority with no oversight just breeds corruption.

  • @Starl00 Being a grey warden is to be in a very strict group. It's not a group for one to enjoy. In the circle, she's surrounded by other mages, people who can sympathize with her; of course she likes it better in the circle. Bethany is at least an example of a decent mage. She rejected the use of blood magic, stated that she did not see it as the solution for freeing other mages. She took no selfish choice in achieving her ways, compromised no others in her actions. Evidence enough?

  • @Starl00 What a lot of people don't understand is that they made mages seem worse in Dragon Age 2 because there was so much sympathy for them in Origins. You had Templars making the 'Rite of Annulment' in that game and then seeing mage children huddled up in a corner. The implication was if you picked the Templars, those kids would die.

Also, I fucking hate how Cullen is portrayed as level headed in this game. I bet the fangirls are rejoicing but I'm disgusted. Cullen went insane in Origins.

  • @Starl00 One man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter. I'm not arguing whether his actions were morally right or wrong, and there's no question he killed innocents. But his target, the Chantry and the Grand Cleric? NOT innocent, not by any stretch, and again, whether a man is a terrorist or a freedom fighter is ENTIRELY dependent on perspective. This is historical fact. Anders is far more akin to John Brown, than, say, bin Laden, which is where the comparisons usually go, sadly.

  • @Starl00 all mages are cagged and watched by the templars, forced to face a demon and being killed if they fail, then they have blood drawn that i case they want freedom from the circle, they could be tracked down and killed or made tranquil depending on the templar's mood.

it's not magic that is corrupt, it is the person that uses magic selfishly that is corrupt. there are mages that do harm but it has nothing to do with being born that way.

  • @Starl00 Speak for yourself, my Hawke is an apostate mage & a good person. :p

  • Now, after completing the game, there is nothing to do. You cannot leave your Estate.. It sucks. I wanna go do more adventures so i can get a higher level than 18 :P

  • @MW2Producting

yeah we gotta wait for more downloadable content to come out :(

  • We actually had to kill that monster (enchanter) 3 times.

  • i was mage and sided with the templars....

  • @FALUKYOURMOM

I did the same, but nobody really pointed out the irony lol

  • Do I hear a Dragon Age 3 coming along?

  • 00:48 - OrsEMO?

  • The moment he mentioned the serial killer in the mage ending I was all like "Okay. It's time for you to die now."

  • "Intended to arrest the Champion"

all i could think was... "wtf! i just killed ppl for you!!"

  • IF YOU DONT WANT ANYONE TO DIE BEFORE THE END OF THE GAME

-side with the templars and you dont have to fight fenris..

-when the chantry goes BOOM!! let anders go and sebastian will not leave

-dont let bethany/carver go with the expedition.. and what happens?? carver will join the templars and bethany will be going to the circle..

*other things if your curious... either of the side orsino and meredith will still die.. and theres no way to stop anders in destroying the chantry which it sucks..

  • @xyzme01 and dont worry about bethany or carver... you will not fight them.. or the alternative let them join the grey wardens..

  • @xyzme01 and shit forgot sebastian will not die after all... haha

  • @xyzme01 you can just convince him to join you thats what i did...

  • @xyzme01

Also, if you do take bethany/carver on the expedition, bring anders, then they become Grey Wardens, instead of dying a slow and horrible death lol.

You can convince Fenris to fight with you against the templars if you finished his companion quests

  • how lazy were bioware?!no matter what you you did it ends the same way!

i bet you they earned twice the $ for making a game that is half as good as DAO.

it had potential. dont get me wrong, i liked it. but i felt it was missing something. it took me +50 hrs with DAO. i finished this in just under 24hrs. not to mention the bug- i never had the chance to complete isabellas mission. and the dungeons were too annoying. i probably spent 12hrs alone in there. hope you dont mess up ME3!!

  • all that work and it ends the same anyways, siding with the mages just means you avoid one battle

  • Seeker: Just tell me one thing then... is the Champion dead?

Varric: Oh.. yes. Quite a lot actually...

  • I can understand why Meredith would double cross you when you side the Templars, but Orsino using blood magic when Meredith wasn't even there, thus trying to kill anyone in its path? "You want blood magic eh Meredith? I'll give you blood magic!" *Tries to kill the Champion* Wait, where's Meredith? Well that was stupid....

  • Me and Cullen are bros 4 life

  • I can't help but feel that siding with the Templars is the evil choice, while siding with Mages is the good choice.

  • @MyLifeIsAverageBitch

I for one welcome my Tevinter Blood Mage Overlords when the Mages gain their freedom and gets controlled by the Tevinter Blood Mages who clearly are superior to the Kirkwall Maleficars. Whats that master? You want to use me as a sacrifice so you can sleep with my lover without her resisting sure!

  • my guess is that hawke and the warden from origins will fight with the maker or against him in DA3

  • @jnowland23 With the maker? What are you talking about?

  • This big dramatic moment is somewhat ruined by that fucking anime sword.
