The most creative place for the half pendent is inside the pot in the king storeroom I believe it only happened once

However I agree with the layout made the gameshow unfair from episode to episode. The ideal placement of the treasure would be the far left of the temple. As you really only have to go halfway through the temple and just shoot back the other half puzzle free. Whenever I saw an episode where they would place the item in the heart room or the room below it I said well the kids are screwed. Unless they DID make a path everytime with the same number of minimal rooms needed to enter to get the item.

You know even if they moved faster and considering the other half pendant was in the pitch black Jester's Court(which he either probably wouldn't have found or ran past it like he did) a third temple guard would have ended the run unless it was in the King's Storeroom.

Honestly there was a team that was even more cruelly screwed over by the temple layout. They had the incredible misfortune of have two temple guards at both entrances into the temple with one a pendant and a half and then finding the other temple guard in the armor fitting rooms. Might have been stupidity on the second kid for not going down the same path as his or her partner did but still thats a painful one to watch

The producers really screwed with these kids. Making them climb up the slide and locking the ladder up to the shrine of the silver monkey? Really? Who wants to bet that the third temple guard was in the Ancient Warriors room and not the ledges?

Season 3 is notorious for the hardest layouts. It's always either up the middle shaft or around. Even though when it's around the bend, it's usually up from the Dark Forest to The Shrine, it's still impossible.

This temple run is the epitome of pathetic loss. With a hard layout and extremely slow players, it just makes for an unwatchable temple run. Don't get me started on the Purple Parrots losing the tie breaker too. -_-
