@Pasguiroq how is that mellberg's fault? Encklemen, should have easily controlled it, any the rules state that if a player puts the ball in his own goal directly from a kick-off/throw-on/corner/free-kick/penalty a corner is given instead of a goal.

The result of such a throw-in, apparently untouched by the keeper, is a corner kick for the opposing team. The ref may have seen differently. Any contact by the keeper and it's a goal.

@jumpy27 It was allowed, but you're right, it shouldnt have been, to be honest, that rule is so little-known, that none of the aston villa players even protested against the goal being given. Presumably the ref thought encklemen must have slightly touched the ball.

The referee said that Enkelmen (or however you spell his name!) actually did kick the ball, and i think that the people on 'The Premiership' actually slow motionned it, and you got to see the ball touch the studs of his boot.
