  • This is really beautiful - thank you so much for sharing this!! I really love your interpretation of it. :)

  • @EdhelHareth Hello! Thank you so much for not ignoring my little letter and fot taking time to listen - I am so happy that you like this :)

(Hey, and thanks for subscribing to my new channel!!)

  • @ImaLanger Of course I wouldn't ignore it!! :) I love Irish people haha!! You're more than welcome, it's always good to hear something a bit different. :)

  • An eminently atmospheric portrait, Mike, of a time and a place which cannot be erased from precious memory. Music can be an event, a journey, a transcendent trip beyond the tangible....and you take us there in splendid fashion. The dreamy, transparent majesties offered here are reminiscent of the high production values and gifted set design of the cinema masterpiece, "Casablanca." Just as Hal Wallis and director Michael Curtiz bring a great screenplay to life, so do you add color & dynamics!

  • @FromHolbergsTime I am honoured that you are spending time looking at my videos, either that or your computer has unfortunately stuck on my channel (wow! nightmare!!) and you have no control.

Glenn, your comments are always so supportive and I am pleased that you can see and experience emotions that some people try to stifle.

Mike (snowed in and nowhere to go! -10C tonight!!)

  • @cheyenne1able Hello Des, good to "meet" you. Sorry for the delay in responding, but I do not monitor this channel much, as I have "closed"it, and started another chennel - ImaLanger.

Thank you for your kind comment.

    Mike

  • Well its put me in a mellow mood but judging by the video notes shouldn't this be listed under food and drink? Very relaxing, Mike.

  • @geoff1945 Thanks for listening Geoff - I had one or two before I played, it does wonders for the nerves!!

  • @Delmontedel - Come on, Mike! You are only punching a few buttons and fiddling with a few keys. What's to worry about? LOL

  • @geoff1945 The trouble is, at this speed I have more time to make mistakes, and boy oh boy, do I make them!

  • @Delmontedel - I play* a Yamaha keyboard (single finger chord style) and I'm tempted to play it slowly and then speed up the recording! I guess doing that live would make you look like Charlie Chaplin!

    * couldn't think of a more accurate description.

  • love it mike.

  • superbe !!! j'adore ,une petite pensée a toi quand je joue avec mon "fr3" que j'ai recu le 20 mai .

  • Hello there! Thank you so much for sending me this video! Your playing is beautiful - and you appear to be a lovely person. "Moon River" and "Tammy" brought a tear to my eye. They are such beautiful songs and you played both so tenderly! Your love of music comes across here - and your warm and sentimental heart. Thank you again for sharing this with me! Best of luck! -- Ken

  • @SanAntonioCrooner Thank you for your lovely words Ken, I really appreciate that, especially coming from someone with your talent and experience.

Hope the sun is shining for you.

    Mike

  • ...very, very lovely...

  • @basicband - Thank you :)

I hope you are ok and that the sun is shining for you.

    Mike

  • Mike, I never lack the inclination to listen to you - only the time most weeks! These are two of my favourite songs - ah when I was young Mike!!! My favourite version of "Moon River" is by Connie Francis - do you remember her? Then "Tammy" remains one of my favourite songs of all times. Thanks for brightening my day! Terry.

  • @terrygrif - Oh ay! I remember Connie, and of course Tammy was sung by Debbie Reynolds. But even before them, my love was Deanna Durbin (but don't tell anyone!)

Thanks for listening, keep well Terry.

  • Mike, our hearts melted listening to that. That was beautiful. Wish our band can back you up on that tune. Would have been nice.

  • @musicfamily Thank you for your lovely comment. I wish you all a very happy week.

    Mike

  • Mike, thank you once again!! This is one of my favourites (truly, I'm very familiar with it -- the movie and tune are both special!)

This was a very good way to start my week!!! Perhaps better than Frank singing it even. Jacques

  • @JacquesClouseauJr - Hello my friend. Thanks for the lovely words. Haven't been too good lately, your kindness is appreciated.

    Mike

  • Bravo Mike e complimenti bella esecuzione!!!!!!

  • @giannimirizzi Thank you - grazie mille?

  • very nicely played. think i would like one of these accordions. all the best

  • @accrag Hello to Somerset!! Thanks for listening. 'tis a good time to buy a s/hand FR-7 as the new FR-7x is now out (far too expensive as far as I am concerned, and not really a lot of change from the FR-7). I am so happy with mine. Good luck. I shall have a look at your channel tonight - I do like the sound of your accordion, do you play through an arranger?

    Mike

  • @Delmontedel hi mike no just straight playing. i.m impressed with your sound and playing must say, good

  • Wonderful performance 5* Gennaro.

  • @elettrofisa Thank you Gennaro. (At least, when I play as slow as I did, I have more time to hit the right notes!!)

Mike - Have a great day!

  • MIke, I wouldn't need a drink to be sent into another world listening to you play this. It is beautiful beyond words even before breakfast...

~Queen Joan~ from the Louisiana Bayou

  • @Ivoryticklermama - Hello dear Queen Joan. I appreciate your kindness & friendship.

Have a lovely day, full of sun,

    Mike

  • Hi Mike,Your Professionel Playing,of keyboad and Bass enhances the capability of the Rowland,You played beautifully,With feeling,Which came over from the accordion and yourself,A close knit combination,Wonderfull to see and hear,With my best wishes your friend,Hal.

  • @1halmason Thanks for the kind words Hal.

    Kev

  • @Accordionman331 - Hey Kevin, thanks very much.

    All the best,

    Mike

  • Dear Mike.

Thank you for your gentle sound to give this ease.

I played catch with a daughter yesterday. An acute pain happened to my left foot suddenly in a few minutes. It was an injury of the pulled muscle.

I have a pain in a foot very.

However, your gentle performance softens in pedialgia.

Thank you for a really wonderful performance.

Your gentle performance deletes a pain than which medicine psychologically.

    ★★★★★彡

    Daisuke

  • @208236 - Thank you Daisuke. I am sorry to hear that you have hurt your foot - "ouch!!", a pulled muscle is very painful.

I hope that you will soon recover (no dancing tonight!)

    Mike

  • Hi Mike, very well played.Nice ,smooth and relaxing.

    Derby

  • @Derbymuscian Thank you Derby, I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

    Mike

  • WONDERFUL MUSIC !LOVE YOUR INTERPRETATION !bravo

  • @cogermax91 Hello Marie-Alix Merci de l'écoute. J'espère que vous avez un beau jour et plein du soleil.

  • Ahh, so relaxing. I actually listened to this at 1:30 am, it did make me sleepy, in a good way. Sounds great without the martinis. While I've never had breakfast at Tiffany's, I have actually played Monopoly at the corner of Boardwalk and Park Place in Atlantic City! (Just a bit of trivia :) . I liked the clarinet voicing you used in Tammy, it suited it well.

  • @jimgansett Thanks Jim, where you played Monopoly, is that where the song "Under the Boardwalk" comes from?

The clarinet voice on the FR-7 (as you may recall), is so strident, I had it's vol level turned right down to minus 40!

    Thanks for your comments.

    Mike

  • Lovely music. Very well played.

  • @clarebannerman Thanks very much Mike.

  • Mike, these two tunes are great together! Such a sweet melancholy! Beautiful expressiveness! I love the tempo - so romantic!

    Hugo*****

  • @musimedic Thank you Hugo. I hope you have a nice week end.

    Mike

  • A beautiful and soulful interpretation, Mike! You breathe some breezes of creative life in these inspired Mancini classics, embellishing these tunes with deeply felt responsiveness, artistically imaginative registrations, and that inimitable expressiveness which we have come to value in your lovely and majestically quiet playing. One senses rivers of emotion running along the currents so ably given voice here, as if we descend upon a more poetic and graceful landscape, a moment of dreams Glenn
  • @FromHolbergsTime Dear Glenn, you are so kind and generous with your wonderful words. I really appreciate your support and your friendship.

    Have a good week end.

    Mike

  • Hello MIke, good to see a video again. I like your interpretation and you feel the emotion, almost a sad feeling. The more the music goes on the more it becomes sad. I do not mean it as a negative comment. BTW Good to see your new keyboard on the background :-)

  • @49Eleonora Thank you Nora. I am pleased you caught the emotion - that means I am playing it as I meant it to sound.

    Mike

    Mike

  • Beautiful Mike. I could even see me drifting down the Lake. 5/5 as usual and more really.

It was so relaxing to hear. I even wore my umbrella so I wouldn't get wet in the rain. This is such a pretty melody and you gave it a new meaning. Wonderful Better than the original.

    Ron!

  • @Rhawneld57 It wasn't you "drifting" down the lake, - I have to admit that I cut the ropes mooring you to the side!!

Thank you for your lovely comment Ron. (Your turn now!)

    Mike

  • I love the sensitivity with which you play the Moon River melody...You are not afraid to play it slow and that is how it should be played...I like the choice of "tones"...Great choice of music Mike...I loved these tunes and like the tempo Very nice performance...Fran...

  • @AccordionLadyMi Oh Fran, you are very kind. I appreciate your comments and your support. (I play slowly so I have more chance of hitting the right notes!!! Ha ha!!)

    Have a great week end.
