  • My impression is that these engines have a congenital defect in its construction.

  • @Lechoslowianin They do seem to, don't they? Very high friction, poor heat transfer on the cooling side, no bearings, piston doesn't seal well without lots of oil, and so on. I think they still sell a version of this engine, though.

  • @approtechie Look at my conception. I am under construction. Please opinion.

  • What was the working temperature? How much load could it pull?

  • @astrialkil I haven't been able to measure the temp yet, but I was just given the engine so maybe along the way I can do that. This engine has little power and can easily be stopped with a finger, barely useful for anything, and consumes an awful lot of power to do it. However, the phase angle can be changed and the displacer is visible - an old lab engine.

  • Nice, You could see the heating coils get dimmer when the engine started to run, pulling the heat from one side to the other.
