One problem to everyone thats building their own ride. Back To The Future Was Simulated, The 8 passenger DeLorean go's through the Garage door into a dome setup(like the simpsons ride). And How are you gonna make the DeLorean move to the Screen?

Cool, I am making my own BTTF TR as well, but just a 4 seater, not 8. So how r u going 2 make it move, & how r u going 2 simulate the actual ride footage? Please post vid of not only the finished product, but also show it in action. Cant wait & good job so far!

may be i can use the fiberglass over the wood and go from that

no that wouldn't work, you need to cast the shape in polystrene, then give it several coats of fiberglass and glue. Read up on it, i dont think you will get far with cardboard and cheap wood when it comes to the actual motion itself

the bttf ride delorean was fiberglass painted with aluminium with silver fascias, my father is an expert on fiberglass, if i wanted an 8 passenger delorean simulator i would do it in fiberglass, not wood.

I think you need to learn some more about the process of making simulator rides, just making it out of wood will not work unfortunetly, talk to some universal employees about how the ride was built

No! Some buildings r made of steel, some of brick. Just cause he's making it out of wood, dont mean it wont work. Creativity, along with not listening 2 other people's reasons y u CANT do something, will take u far.

I am working on the same project, except for the new Simpsons Ride! I have a MotionSim base, and I have designed the Vehicle. I have the room setup, screen and all. We have a siccior lift made into the ground that will lift the motion base and cart a couple feet into the air, where we have a 30 foot screen. Not as big as simpsons but, you know.

I think that is just a mock up. He just drew the sketches on the wood to show where the actual pieces will be, but he will develope it more as he goes.
