@derekcollins79 You might want to examine the Greek word(s) translated "presence" in the English. Next, you fail to understand that what John describes in 14:10 is future and does not take place until 20:14 after the white throne.

Throughout this book Solomon argues life/wisdom apart from God & comes 2 conclusion all is vanity(meaningless)1:1-2, 8:16-17. He then answers the truth of God at the end of book 12:13-14. Did U read 12:7? " then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
