  • OMG! That blue house I used to live in. And that purple was my landlords! I had fun in New Orleans. I miss it and Chicken Snack (Shack) was right across the street. Garlic Wings, Ranch Cajun Fries, and get that Ghetto Punch!!! LOL, where can I get that in the Chi?

  • This makes me real homesick! Yeah ya right!

  • what is the second line and why do they call it the second line?

  • @skatahman ~ The first line is the social aid and pleasure club members ( in this video it is the Treme Steppers), along with the brass band and the secondline is those folks that join in and dance behind as the parade winds its way through the streets.....

  • Always original, always real. Long live the NOLA!

  • 504 for life

  • this is what I miss most about New Orleans since I moved away ! I used to march in the Mardi Gras parades as a baton twirler and those flambeau carriers (guys who carried torches to light the way) they used to just MAKE the atmosphere !! I miss the culture of my home.... GO NEW ORLEANS and GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm from the Bahamas and our culture is the exact same search JUNKANOO and you will see what i mean. I used to live in the NO to bra right there on crowder

  • @nassauE, I'm from New Orleans and lived in Miami, Fl. for a number of years. Some of my BEST friends were from Freeport, Bahamas and their Goombay festivals and junkanoo is damn near the same as New Orleans secondline! They blow whistles, march, and parade like "us". In other words, their SPIRIT is just like N.O. (they enjoy life and celebrate EVERYTHING like we do, lol. check out Goombay or junkanoo on youtube, you'll see what i'm talking about. (Philadelphia's Mummers parades are too)!

  • @nola305 Naw yall do it like us...LOL

  • @nola305 HUH BRA...LOL

  • @SneakinSal Seeing things like this makes me really miss NO.

  • we comin back baby,ya betta believe it,i am soo happy ta be back home!

  • Nice; I have always wanted to experience New Orleans. Man, I sincerely hope there can be a rebirth of New Orleans; it's part of our American heritage.

  • All these videos are post-Katrina, so you can see, at least at the street-level, we are back and in a big time way!

Living to dance and dancing to live!

Just the politicians and good ole boy (republican) bidness men that are holding us back now - they don't know how to share or dance.....

  • Sal, don't forget about the number one good ol' boy politician, you know, the one serving time now and wants his sentence reduced cause he is so old. You know what Democrat I'm talking about.

  • I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone cares about whether an 80 year old politician gets out of jail - what harm can he do anyone at this point?

Time to get some of those republicans, like Bush and Cheney and Rove indicted. They can still ruin millions of lives - in or out of office.

  • @SneakinSal Amen!

  • Oh yeah I feel ya.

  • you know, i really think that if americans of all races and hues took the time to seriously study american culture we would find points to unite on. we are too divided because we let tv and bullshit run our lives.

  • you right and I recognized that the american people and other investor investing in McCain, Clinton, & Obama with the total of 500 million dollars plus, but they can't use some of that money to rebuild the gulf coast, particularly New Orleans? That's some back wards stuff.

  • damn, I wish i could be in one of those parades.

I hope New orleans can gain back their way of life real soon.
