@vitor261 not my man Blaze was greath best posible on this album and virtual so good that we didnt miss Bruce by that i mean maiden funs bot Bruce ios a legend ...
Non mi piace molto il fatto che nell'album "The X Factor" ci fosse Blaze Bayley al posto di Bruce Dickinson,Bruce è molto meglio, infatti è tornato nel 99 se non sbaglio..
While I do think Bruce is the best of all the Maiden singers, Blaze was a good singer as well...but I prefer him in Wolfsbane than in Maiden, honestly.
I dont really like virtual XI or the X Factor but this song is among their best its a shame they dont play it live.... its one of the 4 first songs I ever heard from IRON MAIDEN... Up to this day it gives me a really weird chill....
i agree the x -factor represented a time where iron maiden needed to do something powerful after bruce left. fear of the dark a little poppy and radio friendly (still love that cd) but x-factor was all business and proved maiden will still go on with or without bruce and adrian.
@sivazh lets compare the two. number of the beast was bruce's debut with maiden. X factor was blaze's debut. and i no they had smith for number and gers for this, but which is the most successful album we wonder?
@sivazh Go fuck off, blaze ONLY sounds good in studio because they moderate his voice like FUCK. Have you noticed that nobody liked blaze that much that now he plays in shitty LIL pubs that nobody has EVER heard of. Bruce is a FREAKIN legend and not a pussy as you said. why sir, you can just go suck yourself.
@123SLIPKNOTRULE They moderate his voice like fuck? That's Blaze Bayley singing nothing at all done to his voice, You might not like his voice but get your head out of your ass and ask yourself why Blaze was in maiden, He's got one of the most powerful baritone voices in metal, even bruce didn't sing these songs in their original tuning. Your also a twat if you think his band not having hit the mainstream make them bad, most of the good metal bands nowadays are underground.
blaze carried maiden through the tough times...and he did it well, he can sing well and he does fit into X factor and virtual XI due to the darker tones of the albums!
Iron Maiden has been nominated for an "O Music Award". The winner is chosen by an online poll. @theAngusmaster101 thumbed down!!! mine as well you deserve to be slapped in the face twice and make you go down on your knees.and beg pardon for what you just said.they are both different.
The first cover makes me laugh because Eddie is sitting what looks like an electric chair with helicopter blades on top, like "fly me the fuck outta here!" LOL
Still, one of Maiden's best songs without Bruce Dickinson. Must have been some Umberto Eco influence there.
Blaze is a good studio singer, Bruce is a good in the studio and a good in live concert, i like listening blaze but... Bruce is better!!! listen this song live at rock in rio 2001 and you see the diference... no chance!!!
My favorite Maiden album and one of my favorite Maiden songs. On an unrelated note, I allways thought most of the songs on "X-Factor" would make for pretty awesome death metal covers, tempo- and rythm-wise. Anyone knows if any band ever atempted that, i'd be curious to hear that...
look beyond your one vision minded opinion of maiden...blaze did a fabulas job when bruce left...remember maiden fans its bruce that left so dont hate...besides i bet ppl thought the same thing when Paul Di'Anno left and bruce came in...i was a little young to remember the difference but im sure bruce caught hell at first...grow up ppl
I never gave this album a chance but after hearing the last iron maiden album The Final Frontier I wanted to vomit its the worse album every made this song kicks ass im going out to buy it to add to my collection and im burning the final frontier. : (
@je4thofjuly You obviously don't know maiden...all of their albums and songs is fucking kick ass and i should kick your ass...The final frontier is one of the best albums ever made in music history...you can't just get the message through the songs
@MaidenOfTheMaidens Even with me being a fan of Maiden for 25 years now...you sound like a condescending prick. I personally love Maiden, but I tell ya, there are a couple albums in there that did very little for me. Final Frontier being one of them. No Prayer for the Dying being the other. Neither album was as good as the album before it.
@je4thofjuly I thought the same, The Final Frontier is the first Iron Maiden album I can actually say, "it's bad", it's pretty much a rock album...
To me the last amazing Iron Maiden album was Brave New World, the last great one "Dance of Death" and the last decent one (the very first album from them I dare call "decent") was A Matter Of Life and Death...
This album is actually much better than what people give it credit for, Blaze Bailey is a great singer (specially listen to his solo stuff, he's amazing and has amazing showmanship and song writing skills)...
The problem is that he probably didn't fit in with Maiden, but people who hate him are idiots...HE DIDN'T FORCE HIMSELF INTO THE BAND!
If anything take it out on Steve Harris who hired him (Steve being the band leader) and NOT Blaze!
@MoonOvIce I think Bailey hasn't the vocal extension of Bruce... but his voice is dark, rough... when I listen that album, i feel it more dark than the other Maidens' albums. The song are greatly composed.
@MoonOvIce I think Bailey hasn't the vocal extension of Bruce... but his voice is dark, rough... when I listen that album, i feel it more dark than the other Maidens' albums. The song are greatly composed.
Over the year,s I've tried to be objective about Blaze's time in Iron Maiden, but I always come to the conclusion that he just doesn't sound right with this band. In this case here, he sounds totally flat when he attempts higher notes. I think he sounds great with his own band, though
@LodovicoAriosto1oh yes, some others which just came upon my mind: Fortunes of war Run silent run deep Fugitive to tame a land Phantom of the opera The prisoner Quest for fire Duellists Where eagles there all these based on movies. and there are more I can think of right now and even more I don't even they are inspired by a movie.
Just because they don't like the song doesnt mean they're Bieber fans, lol I honestly didn't like the way the studio version was sung either, till I got used to it. Actually I think Mr Harris is a christian, not because fo the music though.

They're not anti religious it's anti war..maiden isn't anti religous they just write songs about how some people use religion as an excuse to fight a war
Insane sextuplets at 200 bpm at 6:55....how the hell can Dave be so fast? But not only it's one of the fastest solos ever recorded (I could name only 4 or maybe 5 faster solos...not even malmsteen ever played this fast) but it's actually perfect in the context of the song, it's not random stuff that doesn't fit at all! amazing....and this is the best song with blaze
@sirsadistic Say what you will but Paul Di'Anno is my personal favorite Iron Maiden singer. I never cared much for Blaze outside of Wolfsbane, and Dickinson - while undeniably a great singer - has little range or versatility. Neither have the balls or sheer power behind their voice that Di'Anno did and none of Maiden's songs were ever as intense as on their first 2 albums...both of which with Di'Anno on vocals
@Thejigsaw456 He was excelent in the studio. But honestly he sucked live. To be honest I fucking hate the man as soon as he goes on stage. His performance of the bruce era tracks was atrociuos. He was allways singing in falsetto. He could have done a better job i know. It's like he didn't give a shit. Respect him in the studio. But on stage= He could just piss off.
@LogicalLube pff bailey did a good work, When Bruce wasn't in the band and I love this song even If It's bailey who sings so you better shut up -,- Bailey is a great singer b, (I know that Bruce is better singer than him and Bruce Dickinson is my favorite singer) But bailey doesn't sucks , he did a good work.

Blaze is a good singer! Why cant anyone see that
Thejigsaw456 8 months ago 51
