I have a 2011 3.5sr sedan. Love my car and drives so smooth. It's great to have all those nice features such as V6, bluetooth, side airbags, and other amazing features. The Atlima is a great sedan.
@datboidroc they are HID Xenon. You can tell a difference between regular and Xenon when they turn on. Im sure you know this. My 07 even came with them. 4600ks. Might get 6ks idk yet
I tested my brother's 2007 Altima V6 with 80k miles and rides great. No rattles at all, very solid and the interior plastics are of great quality, dash and doors have soft touch plastics. I dont understand why people r complaining about interior quality.
I have a 2010 3.5sr and it is a great car. I have had it for 16 months and have put 29,000 miles on it. Not one single problem. I am very nitpicky about interior (rattles and such) and these have pretty poor interiors. Mine is fully loaded to the brim and every time I take it in for an oil change I have to get a rattle fixed, etc. The bose sound system is great and the car is fast as hell (coming from a ford ranger). Seems very reliable, should last a very long time!!!
@deeselcyde If you are concerned about rattles I don't think that Nissan is right for you. Was it worth 30k with a 120,000 mile bumper to bumper, yes it was because I think it will last me 200,000 miles at least and it is an absolute blast to drive. Nissan should have used higher quality plastics, materials, etc in the interior. BTW, Nissan bends you over on the CVT maintenance flushes and such. Food for thought.
So... is it true that the Altima has a noisy interior? 'Cause I've had a few experiences with some rentals that are base models and doesn't have any of the options, and they had the loudest interiors I have ever experienced. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@boeing797screamliner I have an 08, Its very quiet and smooth and there is absolutely no rattling; the interior plastics are very good quality as other people have already said. As for your rental experience, its a rental and people beat those cars up, so dont judge based on that. I also spun out at 140k causing me to jump over an island.3500 worth of damage. Now thats a good card. Its very stable, im surprised it didnt flip. I owe nissan my life.
@DMTZ3 mine rattles but I also drive the 3.5 like its meant to be driven. 07 owner :) with power mods and a Nismo Spoiler. My rattling only comes from the Bose system. There is NO SOUND DEADENING in the car so stuff rattles like crazy. Also the drone from my custom Borla exhaust rattles my sun glasses in my holder case :P
The Altima received a facelift for the 2010 model year. I have a 2007 Altima 3.5 SE, which is the same thing as this car before the facelift.
Kyle, did you notice any shift delay? For example shifting from park into reverse or drive into reverse or reverse into drive ect... it takes an extra amount of time to shift. This is a known issue for the 2007-09 Altima's. It would take ~2 seconds to shift into gear. I'm curious to know if it was fixed for the 2010+ Altimas.
i dont care if its CVT or manual or what.. its preference of the driver, end of the story... and CVTs arent that bad, i have a car with one and drives pretty smooth and i love the driving manner.. i ride on a regular automatic and i get pissed by all the jerking cuz of the shifting ¬¬ feels SO, 20th century. and those who dont like CVT there is an altima with 6-spd manual.. so dont complain...
My sentiments exactly. The CVT was developed with fuel efficiency in mind, while maintaining power at a certain speed, thus creating a smooth ride, and comfort in mind.
@pendragon2015 uhmm.. 2015... so your a freshman... im assuming in highschool... you can't drive yet... why base a car off looks, and not interior or performance?
@happyxtonez Well these cars have no performance. The CVT bleeds whatever life these cars have. My Mom's Sentra is so bland as a car itself and the CVT makes it that much more boring. Nissan has a lot of balls to call their Maxima sport sedans with the CVT and FWD, there was a time when they were badass with the 6 speed manual.
@cosbaraman Hell`s to the know Altima ARE BETTER!! there one of the best Sedans out there they last along time and are very cheap to fix to they are hardly any problems with this cars
i like the altima :) but we dont have altima where i live :( we have a similar model named nissan teana(which is also nice) but i like the altima much better :D and as far as the tranny goes... whatever.. id just choose the one i prefer at the moment... i just like the quality and good engine and exhaust note of nissan vehicles :)
@fallentear9711 The remote must be on you. It even knows if the remote is on the front seat as you cannot lock yourself out. I have the white 3.5sr exactly the same as this video.
Im a big fan of nissan, but I dont know why they didn't completely redesign the atima for 2012. Its been around since 2007 and they made some changes on the 2010 models. Little disappointing.
@datpimpinboy actually 3rd gen is 02-06 not 02-07 which makes it five years in which case there should have been a new altima for 2012 but the altimas dont have a 5 yr life cycle because the 2nd gen only lasted 4 years as well
Cool I just bought the same car in black, though I have only put 500 miles on it , so far it's great. Love all the features! I really can't compare it to my other vehicle I usually drive (2000 Suburban) because they're not in the same league, but the seats are a lot more comfortable and the engine blows away the chevy 8 cylinder.....Great engineering, great price, great car and great dealer experience. I maybe back for another.....
@gmman010983 Yes....the guy is racing the engine with no load. The rings have not been seated. An engine should have a load and at at least 3/4 throttle to wear the rings to the exact shape of the cylinder. The spring tension of the rings are not strong enough to wear into the walls. The combustion process spreads the rings and creates the seal wearing down the original honing marks for a perfect fit. Do not baby the enging as per most manuals! Do vary the rpm's, and stay away from redline.
This car uses the same 3.5 VQ35DE engine of the G35 but it's mated to a CVT transmission. WHYYYYYYYYYY?!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's like wearing a 5,000 prada suit with beach sandles .. why would someone pay the gas expense of a thirsty 3.5L engine when it's got a CVT to ruin all performance!
Nice to see these modern nissans as they don't sell these in the Uk market, I suppose they can't go up against Merc/BMW, because large, none executive cars don't sell that well over here these days :o( Not bad, although I think that how the dash falls backwards half way down makes it look cheap :o(
