Should I get this or a MacBook pro… I luv samsung but the Mac pro looks nice... But I need something that will at least 5 years. I am thinking for the samsung cuz I don't really like apple and a new MacBook pro comes out every year someone help me thx!

@hibrian9 Your right, Apple releases a new set of computer's every year, which often leaves their customers wanting the new and improved machine. This would be fine if Mac products weren't substantially overpriced. I'd recommend a PC for multiple reasons. First, incompatibility issues. There are many programs designed for windows and Windows only. Second, price. You can find PC's more powerful than a Macbook and 2/3 the price. Basically, a Mac is just a restricted PC in prison.

@hibrian9 Well if power isn't all that important, and you want a laptop strictly for schooling, I'd recommend a netbook. Netbooks are miniature laptops which usually use Intel Atom processors which reduce speed performance in order to increase battery life. This way you can use your netbook in class, the library, or wherever needed and you won't have to worry about carrying around your power chord. However, if money's not an issue, i'd get the Samsung 9 because it's super mobile, and powerful.

@bonghodrum not really answering the question, but idk if a ram upgrade would be needed. i was skeptical when seeing 4gb, but it's DDR3 and the latest i5 sandy bridge should get the job done. if you want a faster computer, not exactly a good idea to look at ultraportables. just how i see it :)

@AlfredMohi Because the MacBook Air has 3 generation old processors for one. OS X doesn't support TRIM (for solid state drive performance longevity). The 9 series has a much brighter screen. Then there is the fact that it isn't Apple, so you won't look like a pretentious douchebag with it.

i bought this at the local microsoft store that just opened. they had plenty brand new ones.

the price difference was soo minor. i wasnt going to wait a couple of weeks for the online stores to finally ship out the stock they had.

as for the noise ill get back to you about that. I didn't have even a moment yesterday to play with the laptop. I should have a chance today. I'm bringing it to the library and that will be a nice test of sound.

I purchased the laptop from the microstore. The store itself was a great experience. If you never bought anything before from the microsoft store, give it try. the employee's are very nice and they make the purchase fun.

I have never had an apple product myself but many of my friends do. From what I have seen apple products looks very nice but I am just complacent with window products. I am also considering purchasing the new samsung flat led big screen. they will be able to sinc together!

i do have another video where i timed it, turning on. you only hear noise comming from outside my house and other noises but the laptop has no hoise.

thats just mean "joseluis" i was trying to go around a tripod and not get in the way of the lens of the camera so it was a bit hard to reach and see.

as for the battery, i havent given it a charge yet when making the video. it is charged for the first time last night. i should be able to see it in action today.

no noise what so ever. no hard drive noise. no fan noise. none...
