  • Best of all single sports.Been playing since 1960 and still playing challenge court at age 78.Played handball also through the years.A very demanding sport that requires complete amberdexterity otherwise you will never win without an equal off hand shot and have to supply your own power but the shear power of raquetball with speeds of 100 mph on a 20x40 court cannot be beat especially when you make a great shot.

  • He needs to be wearing goggles.

  • Anyone who enjoys racquetball and comedy should check out my Racquetball Rap

Just type "Racquetball Rap" into youtube search :)

  • lol the second serve was a fault

  • All these have a go heroes are spreading misinformation accross the sporting world.

These people seem more interested in being on youtube than demonstrating the shots correctly.

  • Un buen video (con mal audio) para aprender el Z-serve en racquetball

  • WTF ?? never heard of this sport

  • @r0baa AKA "squash"

  • Learn some stuff and play racquetball with someone good. Then you will be surprised how technical it really is.

  • @SportSquash tennis forever for people who barely move in squash

  • @Fernandez218 I'm an advanced tennis player, played singles in a city champ team and I can tell you that competitive raquetball is as cardio intense if not more than tennis because of the speed of the retrieves. You're hitting the ball harder quicker faster with no rest in between shots.

  • @melonbarmonster i already know this. racquetball burns more calories than any other sport.

i was responding to a lame comment by 'SportsSquash'. tell SportsSquash that.

  • @Fernandez218 It definitely burns a lot, especially if you play aggressively for more than an hour. Whew!

  • That drive z serve looked short to me...

  • Do you know why he's so smug at the end? Because he KNOWS I can't return that. He knows it, and he was smiling because he pictured me trying.

  • @handicappedhero It's actually pretty easy to get off the serve in the video the ball still has to bounce hit the side wall and float toward the middle of the court.. Don't get me wrong I'm sure he can do better. But, just for the example in here, it's pretty simple.

  • @handicappedhero Actually, the drive z serve was short AND that ball sure would have popped straight out.....Except, it would have popped straight out to my forehand in which I would have easily rolled it out........

  • @danesters Enjoy your dexterity. Enjoy it for me.

  • @handicappedhero Okay, for you, anything

  • also its another way to set yourself up for the other person to get a killshot in the corners

  • not impossible to return you just gotta do it right its hard but not imossible

  • what about a hinder for the player returning? cause he looks like hes about to get smashed in the back.

  • When you do this serve you set yourself up for getting smashed in the back. After you hit it your body kinda drifts into the middle...if you are able to smack the shit of it you should be fine though, it catches people off guard a lot of the time.

  • If you don't get back into position after your serve then you aren't playing the game right. Also with drive Z the idea is to get the ball back into the corner before a player can cut it off.

  • I think I can handle that!!!

  • hmm... it seems like all his serves are faults...

  • They may be, but for the purposes of the video, one could argue that the theory of the serve is more important for learners than his execution of it.

  • @RidgeRacerLord I think it's the camera angle, just like when you are on the other side of a tennis court, out balls can appear in bounds.

  • he faulted..haha

  • Man I tryed that and the ball came back and hit me in the chest. It hurt so bad.

  • Another way of completing the Z serve is hit the same wall on the serve but to hit the front wall about 75% of the way up and the side wall about 85% up for the ball to come back at your opponent at about thier shoulder level when about a foot from the back wall. You can mix up how hard you hit it to either make the ball Z out and go parallel or to not hit is as hard and for it to go in other areas as well. Practicing this will help you know where the serve will land. Great videos here.

  • Great explanation of the drive z serve. I hit that serve and when done properly will kick off the right side wall with an up-spin and kiss the back wall and pop up a bit. It's a very effective shot, hard to execute and difficult to return, but not impossible. a good player who sees it often enough will learn to take it off the back wall to the front.

    Thanks, Mike

  • Definitely not "impossible" to return, a smart player would simply hit a perfectly hit Z-zerve off the back wall. Try to leave it painting a sidewall so that the opp doesn't have the chance for a kill.

  • Definitely. Or a lob.

  • I don't think it's 'IMPOSSIBLE' to return when the ball is parallel but extremely difficult is more like it. There was a guy I played and he had a really strong Z but it got predictable when you kind of knew where the ball was going to be.

    Nice vid though!

  • it's almost impossible to return it AGGRESSIVELY. You can return it defensively most of the time.

  • second serve was def. short

  • ya. almost got it in though. =D

  • this is the best serve thanks
